The Aaron Butler Purple Heart Run has become one of our favorite events each year. Thanks to Sergeant Cody Evans, Boise PAL has proudly served as both a sponsor and participant since the first memorial race.
The memorial run is a meaningful way to honor Aaron’s life and legacy. Aaron lived with purpose, challenged those around him to become better men, and embodied the courage and commitment of a Green Beret.
As a longtime Special Operations Unit (SOU) team member, Sergeant Evans knows firsthand the sacrifice, leadership, training, and brotherhood that are essential to success—not only in operations, but in life. His teammate, “Mags,” was also a teammate of Aaron’s, making this memorial especially meaningful to Boise PAL. We are honored to continue our tradition of participating each year.
Each year, PAL sponsors its own squad of runners, pairing local youth with officers to take on the 5K together. This year, our PAL runners pushed themselves to the finish and earned 1st, 2nd, and 4th place in the youth 5K!
We couldn’t be more proud of our PAL runners and grateful to be part of an event that honors Aaron’s memory while recognizing the courage, sacrifice, and service of veterans at every level.

Due to the smoke around the Treasure Valley and bad air quality, we are canceling the last rafting trip of the year. We need to keep everyone healthy. We are so sorry. Emails have been sent to notify of the cancelation!

PAL is gearing up for our 8th year at the Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart ABMF run. We have been a supporter of this event and the foundation’s commitment to youth leadership & development while honoring Sgt Butler’s memory since its first year.

Each year we sponsor local youth to be a part of our PAL squad & run/walk the 5k with our PAL officers. Open to kids 9yo-16yo.

This year PAL wanted to try some new events, hit it out of the park with this one! Such a fun night! Thankyou so much for hosting us! We can’t wait to come back and do it again! We learned so much! If you haven’t been to the new facility yet, please go check it out! There is classes for all ages!

Come join PAL for a unique, hands-on experience with Krav Maga self-defense class designed to bring local youth and law enforcement together in a positive, high-energy environment. Taking place on Thursday May 28, 2026, from 6:30–7:15 PM at Boise Cities Krav Maga. This special event offers participants the chance to learn practical self-defense techniques while building trust, teamwork, and community connections. We can’t wait to see you! You won’t want to miss this!
