Yesterday was one of those special days that I am so grateful for - our 10th Annual BVEP Economic Summit. 15 plus years of serving this amazing place I call home. I wish Lisa Bloomquist Holland was still here to celebrate with us!

April recap: the BVEP team logged some serious miles. 🗺️

Tokyo. Little Rock. Sun Valley. Richmond. Washington, D.C. — our team was everywhere this month, making connections and making the case for Boise and Idaho as the next destination for businesses and investments.

Here's how it went:
📝 Beth & Katelyn kicked things off at the IEDA Conference — touring the State Capitol, the North End Zone Expansion project with Anderson Construction before taking in a day and a half of presentations covering economic trends, foreign direct investment, Opportunity Zones, and more.
🚞 Katelyn headed to Sun Valley for a Leadership Conference diving deep into AI in the workplace — from legal considerations to the future of education and workforce development. Great conversations, great connections.
✈️ Beth flew to Little Rock for the IAMC Spring Forum, joining corporate real estate leaders from across the country to talk site selection, portfolio strategy, and the future of business growth.
🗾 Clark led a sales mission to Tokyo alongside Andrea Cantor (City of Boise), Tom Kealey (Idaho Dept. of Commerce), and Micron. 15 meetings with companies in Micron's supply chain exploring Idaho as a home for their operations — plus a 100+ person reception putting Boise and Idaho front and center as a premier place to do business.
🌐 Beth closed out the month in Richmond for the Cushman & Wakefield Leadership Council before heading to Washington, D.C. for SelectUSA to push our FDI efforts forward. More to come on that one!

April was busy, but we always have time for a great conversation. Reach out & let's connect!

The future of our economy is rooted in the strength of our past—and the leaders we cultivate today.

At the 10th Annual Economic Summit, we’ll explore this year’s theme: “Roots of the Valley, Leaders of the Future.” Through two featured panel discussions, we’ll dive into:

🌾 Idaho’s Agricultural Foundation — Unpacking Idaho’s role in America’s food economy as a quiet giant at the center of agricultural production systems.
🤝 Mentorship & Leadership — Highlighting the importance of developing strong leaders and fostering mentorship across our business community.

What a great afternoon at our Q2 Stakeholder Luncheon! 🙌

Yesterday we were honored to hear from Jeff Binford, Senior Director of US Expansion Planning at Micron, who shared exciting updates on the progress, as well as some fun facts about Micron's two fabs right here in Boise. Did you know that Micron has over 60,000 patents?

We also enjoyed a Q&A session between recently elected Mayor Bill Jacobs of Garden City and our Executive Director, Clark Krause. Mayor Jacobs shared his vision for Garden City in 2026, discussed how local government can best support businesses, and spoke to the importance of community partnerships in driving long-term growth.

A huge thank you to The Grove Hotel for hosting the event and providing a wonderful space and delicious food for our guests.

Thank you to our stakeholders for showing up and investing in the growth of the Boise Valley.
