"Boise is the hub for innovation that will be ten years plus for subsequent decades. Boise is the hub of near-term roadmap technologies, and now Boise is becoming the hub of leading-edge memory manufacturing.” — Sanjay Mehrotra, Chairman, President & CEO of Micron Technology

This week, Micron announced Micron Research Labs, headquartered in Boise, with plans to invest $10 billion in research over the next decade.

The new research hub will focus on advancing memory and computing technologies while bringing together researchers, universities and industry partners. Combined with Micron’s continued manufacturing expansion, the investment further strengthens Boise’s role in the global semiconductor ecosystem.

From leading-edge manufacturing to next-generation research, the Boise Metro continues to be a place where innovation is built for the future.

🏆 Idaho ranks #1 in the nation for Best States to Live In.

WalletHub’s 2026 Best States to Live In ranking placed Idaho at the top of all 50 states, with strong rankings for safety, economy, and affordability.

As companies and talent evaluate where to grow, invest, and build their future, Idaho continues to stand out on the national stage. The Boise Metro is proud to be part of that momentum, offering a strong business environment, access to talent, and a quality of life that continues to earn national recognition.

There was a time when many people couldn't point to Boise on a map.

Today, the Boise Metro is recognized as one of the country's fastest-growing regions for business investment, innovation, and opportunity. But that transformation didn't happen overnight. It was built through decades of collaboration, leadership, and a shared vision for the future.

At BVEP, we're proud to be part of that story, working alongside our public and private partners to help attract new investment, support business growth, and strengthen our regional economy.

10,000+ jobs. 42 companies.

It's more than just numbers.

Every new job represents a family putting down roots, a business choosing to invest, and another step toward a stronger regional economy.

Over the past decade, the Boise Metro has continued to attract companies across industries, from advanced manufacturing and semiconductors to food processing, technology, headquarters operations, and distribution. Those investments have created thousands of opportunities and helped shape the community we know today.

At BVEP, we're proud to work alongside our public and private partners to support that growth and tell the stories behind it.

Because economic development isn't just about attracting companies, it's about creating opportunities for people.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for BVEP's Q3 Stakeholder Luncheon!

The afternoon featured valuable conversations about the future of the Boise Metro, from BVEP's latest economic development initiatives to leadership insights from Brenda Worrell, President & CEO of Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU), and an in-depth commercial real estate outlook from CBRE & TOK Commercial.

We appreciate Brenda Worrell for sharing her perspective on building a people-first culture while leading one of the nation's fastest-growing credit unions. Thank you as well to Karena Gilbert and Peter Oliver for discussing the trends shaping Idaho's office and industrial markets, business relocation activity, and what they're seeing across the Pacific Northwest.

A special thank you to The Grove Hotel for sponsoring and hosting this quarter's luncheon, and to all of our stakeholders for your continued partnership in advancing economic opportunity throughout the Boise Valley.

🎉 Happy 5th Anniversary, Beth!🎉

Today we're celebrating Beth Ineck, and five incredible years with Boise Valley Economic Partnership!

If you've ever worked with Beth, you know she has a slight obsession with Excel & Data!! If there's data to collect and organize, just know she's already halfway through building the spreadsheet.

Thankfully, that love of data is matched only by her passion for economic development. Over the past five years, Beth has helped strengthen partnerships, support business growth, and advance economic development throughout our region.

Beth, thank you for everything you do. Congrats on five amazing years!

April recap: the BVEP team logged some serious miles. 🗺️

Tokyo. Little Rock. Sun Valley. Richmond. Washington, D.C. — our team was everywhere this month, making connections and making the case for Boise and Idaho as the next destination for businesses and investments.

Here's how it went:
📝 Beth & Katelyn kicked things off at the IEDA Conference — touring the State Capitol, the North End Zone Expansion project with Anderson Construction before taking in a day and a half of presentations covering economic trends, foreign direct investment, Opportunity Zones, and more.
🚞 Katelyn headed to Sun Valley for a Leadership Conference diving deep into AI in the workplace — from legal considerations to the future of education and workforce development. Great conversations, great connections.
✈️ Beth flew to Little Rock for the IAMC Spring Forum, joining corporate real estate leaders from across the country to talk site selection, portfolio strategy, and the future of business growth.
🗾 Clark led a sales mission to Tokyo alongside Andrea Cantor (City of Boise), Tom Kealey (Idaho Dept. of Commerce), and Micron. 15 meetings with companies in Micron's supply chain exploring Idaho as a home for their operations — plus a 100+ person reception putting Boise and Idaho front and center as a premier place to do business.
🌐 Beth closed out the month in Richmond for the Cushman & Wakefield Leadership Council before heading to Washington, D.C. for SelectUSA to push our FDI efforts forward. More to come on that one!

April was busy, but we always have time for a great conversation. Reach out & let's connect!
