Innovation starts with educator, the Idaho Workforce Development Council is proud to partner in the 2026 Idaho STEM Conference to help prepare Idaho students for the opportunities of tomorrow.

From July 29–31, more than 300 educators, administrators, higher education leaders, industry partners, and out-of-school learning professionals will gather at Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls to explore innovative teaching practices, emerging technologies, and career-connected learning that bring classroom learning to life.

The Idaho STEM Conference is more than professional development. It's an opportunity to strengthen connections between education and industry, helping students discover the many pathways available after high school while equipping educators with practical strategies and resources they can immediately use in their classrooms.

Attendees will experience inspiring keynote speakers, hands-on workshops, collaborative learning sessions, and the Innovation Playground, where business and industry partners showcase how STEM powers Idaho's workforce across advanced manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, engineering, technology, energy, finance, and more.

Last week, WDC Project Coordinator, Meliah Anchustegui, participated in CTE Connect 2026 as part of their new poster presentation session. Her poster highlighted Idaho's Educator Externship Program and how industry partnerships for educators strengthen career-connected learning and showcase real-world impact across Idaho.

Three Educators also presented their own posters during the session, sharing about the projects they completed as Externs with the Idaho Division of Career Technical Education, and demonstrating how Externship experiences can translate directly into classroom practice and stronger alignment with workforce needs. Together, these posters highlighted the power of collaboration between educators, industry, and statewide partners to inspire, educate and elevate education for Idaho students.

Support your students in meeting Idaho’s new digital literacy graduation requirement.

Idaho Digital Literacy Two-Day Workshop prepares high school teachers 9-12 to teach students the basics of computer science and the growing role of artificial intelligence in everyday life. Through hands-on programming, visual problem solving, and critical analysis, educators learn how computing systems work, how data powers AI, and how intelligent tools make decisions.

For educators:
• Regional in-person professional learning opportunities
• Self-paced online training options
• Understand how AI impacts individuals and communities
• Build practical, future-ready technology skills

The Idaho STEM Action Center will cover substitute costs and transportation for eligible educators.

Prepare your educators. Meet the requirement. Build future-ready skills.
