It may be dog day, but today, Aging Strong has a very special kitty cuddled up to our AmeriCorps Senior blankets we gave away to volunteers to thank them for their service last year! I guess Cheesy is officially part of the Aging Strong team! Will you join Cheesy in becoming an Aging Strong volunteer this year?

We are back to school!!! Our volunteers are hitting the ground running this year! Our staff member, Lisa Underwood, recently had a little fun teasing her husband, brother, and sister that THEY could order from the senior menu... while she was told she'd have to wait 10 more months.

Who's laughing now? They got the discount... but Lisa is still hanging on to her youth! (Although we're pretty sure they were the ones who saved a few bucks that day!)

This week we say a fond farewell to an amazing Memory Cafe service dog, Max and his handler, Steve. Max is going into retirement. This gentle, loving giant has served our Memory Cafes since the beginning of the Memory Cafes of Aging Strong. Gifts come in many packages, and our families have received an amazing gift in this duo's years of service. They will be missed much. You can still say your goodbyes this Thursday at Bown Crossing Memory Cafe at 1:00. Thank you, Max and Steve. We wish you the very best!
