Public lands belong to everyone—not private interests.

83% of Idaho’s voters oppose selling off national public lands from across the Western U.S.

When these lands are sold, access disappears. Opportunities to hike, hunt and explore are lost forever. Let’s protect the places we all share.

🐝 Happy World Bee Day!

This Hunt's bumblebee was spotted hard at work in the native plant garden at Silver Creek Preserve's Conservation and Education Center.

More than 20 species of bumblebees have been observed across Idaho. These tiny powerhouses play a big role in supporting biodiversity and the landscapes we love.

Lay-down fencing is a vital tool for balancing a working landscape with a healthy ecosystem. By lowering the fences while cattle are not grazing, we remove a barrier for migrating wildlife—like elk, deer, and pronghorn—allowing them to move freely without the risk of entanglement. Fences are raised in late spring to accommodate grazing cattle.

REGISTRATION: https://forms.gle/EDk1DEtM3bWBdNAz5

WHAT: Join us at the Flat Ranch Preserve to help The Nature Conservancy raise their fences to make the pasture cattle-ready.
WHERE: TNC's Flat Ranch Preserve, 4770 Highway 20, Island Park, ID 83429
WHEN: May 30, Time 9am - 3pm
BRING: Water, snacks, work gloves, sun protection, sturdy footwear

Controlled burning and cultural fire restore dry forest ecosystems—bringing them back into balance so forests have greater resilience against wildfire, drought and other threats.

To return beneficial fire to the West, TNC experts like Kai Sauerbrey are collaborating with Tribes, federal and state agencies, landowners and other partners to put low- and medium-intensity fire back on the ground.

Check out our latest story to go inside the science, planning and expertise behind beneficial fire in dry forests: https://www.nature.org/en-us/about-us/where-we-work/united-states/western-dry-forest-and-fire/western-dry-forests-fires-stories/beneficial-fire/?en_txn1=s_fbo.reg_wescan.x.x
