Just a heads up!

There is a Disc Golf Tournament this weekend at VMP!

From the organizing group:

Hey neighbors! đź‘‹
Just a heads up — we're hosting a disc golf tournament at the brand new course at Veterans Memorial Park this Saturday and Sunday, May 2nd & 3rd. We've got around 120 players signed up, including some of the best disc golfers in Idaho, so it's going to be a fun one to swing by and watch!

A couple things to know:
The park will feel a little busier than usual this weekend, so thanks in advance for your patience. The disc golf course itself will be closed to casual play both days while the tournament is running — but the rest of the park is open as always.

Come on out, cheer on the players, and check out the new course in action. Hope to see you there!

Safer Streets for Our Neighborhood

Traffic concerns, public transit options, and safe routes for students.

Join your neighbors for an informative and interactive conversation about how we move safely through our neighborhood. Local presenters will share information about traffic safety concerns, public transit resources through Valley Regional Transit—including new free ridership opportunities—and Safe Routes to School efforts that help students walk, bike, or scooter safely.

After brief presentations, there will be plenty of time for neighbors to ask questions, share concerns, and discuss ideas for improving safety and mobility in our community. Your perspective and experiences are an important part of the conversation.

TOMORROW!

Opening on Thursday, March 5, the new 18-hole disc golf course at Veterans Memorial Park offers opportunities for players of all skill levels to practice and compete. The layout was developed in partnership with disc golf professionals, nearby Neighborhood Associations, risk and safety professionals, and other recreationists with safety in mind. Please pay attention to all posted signs along the course and be aware of other park users as everyone experiences this new feature.

The course starts near the park’s main entrance off N. Veterans Memorial Parkway just north of the playground.

In communities across the United States, a shortage of “missing middle” housing — walkable, diverse, and affordable mid-scale housing options between single-family homes and large apartment complexes — has shaped who can live near jobs, schools, and services. This panel brings together local leaders and practitioners deeply engaged in housing, policy, and development to explore actionable solutions and share insights from Boise’s evolving housing landscape.

This conversation benefits from voices that shape housing at different points in the system — from how rules are written, to how markets respond, to how projects actually get built.

Kudos to City Council Members!! This is a win for Boise Fire and the future residents of the area. Rather than acting retroactively when the Fire Department is maxed out, they're actually planning for the future impacts!

The developer of a South Boise planned community will need to slow its planning work until the City of Boise answers questions on requirements for a fire station in the area. On Tuesday, the Boise City Council voted unanimously to defer an application for the next phae of Locale, a planned community...
