Acceptance

Acceptance Accepting that everyone is different, while ensuring everyone receives equal opportunities to reach their personal goals.

Person centered planning for community integration, independent living, and community supported employment services.

The main goal, for now, is to focus on the at-risk youth and young adult populations, by giving them what they need to not only find their freedom and success, but to learn to develop sustainable changes in their lives. Each person that enters into the program is given a promise. We will guarantee that we can find employment for an individual as long as he or she is truly committed to finding and sustaining employment. There are a limited number of resources out there for employment services and if for any reason someone doesn't qualify for those resources or when those resources run out for an individual before employment is found, we will continue working with them pro bono until we find suitable employment. Acceptance welcomes anyone who needs to find employment but struggles to do so because of:

• Developmental or Physical Disability
• Mental health issues
• Criminal background history
• General first time having to look for employment
• Receiving SSDI and you think you cannot employment? -You can, we can help. There are many variables to consider when looking for employment and we want to help anyone understand those variables and possible barriers to finding employment. Possible funding sources that can help to pay for services to find employment include IDVR and Medicaid as well as potential CIP funds from probation and parole. The Idaho Department of Vocational Rehabilitation assists individuals with disabilities and mental health issues find employment. They provide funding to programs like Acceptance that will help you not just find employment, but also teach you the tools necessary to find employment independently in the future. Common services provided by Acceptance to help individuals find employment are:

• Assisting with the Idaho Vocational Rehabilitation Application at no charge
• Community based employment evaluations where Acceptance secures a short term job site for you in the field you want to employment in, and evaluates you employment ability.
• Help you learn to create a resume, multiple resumes if needed for different fields of work.
• Understand behavioral interviews and teach you how to go through behavioral interviews, what to expect and best ways to respond.
• Learn the difference between persistence and annoyance when calling potential employers
• How to dress for an interview or a second interview
• Organizing your schedule and learning how to manage your time
• On-site job coaching if you need a little extra help with learning the job and your responsibilities
• Once you get that job continued support is offered to help you learn to budget your pay checks, help start a savings account, managing rent, utilities, phone service, comparison shopping, and so much more. If you feel you need assistance with anything that is not listed here please let us know and we are more than willing to help you with that as well. Acceptance will not limit their services to only individuals that go through Idaho Vocational Rehabilitation. We would like to also work with Medicaid, but that is the second step for now. We do also offer services on a sliding scale fee for individuals that do not qualify for assistance from VR or Medicaid. The fee is assessed based on individual’s financial ability to pay and there may be not cost for the service depending on the situation.
