Tapped Minds November is inbound!

This month’s topic: Built for the Moon: Inside Boise State's Student-Led Lunar Robotics

What does it take to build a robot designed to explore the lunar surface? Join Oliver MacDonald, a Boise State graduate student in the College of Engineering, and instructor of the Bender Autonomous Robotics Systems (Bender ARS) team, for a behind-the-scenes look at the engineering, creativity and collaboration behind student-led lunar robotics.

Oliver will introduce the NASA Lunabotics Challenge and explore what goes into a season of building, testing and problem-solving. From navigation and chassis to drivetrain and regolith, discover how students across engineering subteams work together to design an autonomous robot and tackle the challenges of lunar exploration.

It's a Pac-12 showdown in Pullman, WA as the Broncos take on Washington State.

Headed to the game? Our alumni team will be on site for our Bronco Bash Tailgate.

Here's what you need to know:
• Saturday, October 24
• Rogers Field, Pullman, WA (Right next to Martin Stadium)
• 1:00 p.m - 2:30 p.m PST (Kickoff is 3:00 p.m PST)

Rogers Field is in Cougville, so make sure to wear all the Blue and Orange you can! Important note: Once you enter Rogers Field, you cannot exit. You will scan your football ticket to enter the field and there is no re-entry. You will enter Martin Stadium from Rogers Field.

This event is free for all. Your registration includes access to our exclusive, family-friendly tailgate experience, game day swag, and music and activities to enjoy with fellow Broncos. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Boise State Alumni Day at the Seattle Kraken is back for a 2nd year. Join the Boise State Puget Sound Alumni Chapter for an afternoon of hockey as the Seattle Kraken take on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday, January 18 at 1 pm. We'll have dedicated sections reserved just for Boise State alumni and friends. Each ticket purchase includes a co-branded Boise State-Kraken t-shirt.

For Jarred Hall, Boise State was more than a place to earn a degree—it was a community he connected with from the very beginning.

“My first visit to Boise State was unforgettable. I toured campus, tailgated with Broncos fans, and attended my first Boise State football game—all experiences that helped me fall in love with the university.”

As a finance major with a minor in marketing, Jarred found both opportunity and community at Boise State, building experiences and relationships that continue to shape him today.

Now, Jarred serves as a Commercial Portfolio Manager and Underwriter at Zions Bank, where he supports local businesses and the communities they serve. Outside of work, he also gives back through coaching baseball and volunteering with Game Changer of Idaho, a nonprofit organization that provides athletic opportunities for youth with special needs.

As a member of the BOLD Committee, Jarred is excited to stay connected, support Boise State, and help recent graduates build meaningful relationships long after college.

“What excites me most about serving on the BOLD Committee is the opportunity to reconnect with Boise State and give back to the university.”

Thank you, Jarred, for continuing to strengthen the Bronco community and for giving back in so many meaningful ways.
