The Grapevine Boise

The Grapevine Boise Boise's home for care and recovery and a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

Established in 1952, we work together to continue the tradition of Fire Station No.2 by saving lives whether we are fire fighters long gone, persons in recovery, or their families. The Grapevine is Boise’s home for care and recovery and a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Our credo is to provide a place of safety for those in recovery that is accessible for individuals and their families coping wi

th alcoholism, drug dependency, and other addictive disorders. We work to continue the heritage we have inherited from others, begun in 1952 when The Grapevine was founded, by ensuring its place in the community as one of the oldest, continuously operating facilities of its kind in the United States. And, we give our labors to grow the hope, strength, and courage we share at Twelve-Step meetings, seven days a week with others.

As we have learned, recovery runs on hope. August 16, 2017 was a sad day for us when some of that hope withered and was lost.

As you likely know, The Grapevine was sold at auction by the City of Boise to a local group known as “Love + Timber”. The new owners are the talent on the HGTV pilot program called “The Boise Boys”.

We spoke with Luke Caldwell and Clint Robertson soon after the auction and told them of our interest in working together on a plan that continues to offer meeting space at The Grapevine while they consider its long term use. We expect to, but have not yet heard back.

Until we do, we will continue to do what we have learned in recovery . . . feel the loss, accept the pain, learn from the experience, and move on.

Please share with us by posting on our page your questions, comments, and fond memories. The Board of Directors of The Grapevine, Inc. continue to meet regularly to plan our future and would like to hear from you.

We also continue to host meetings at the Interfaith Sanctuary each Monday at 7:00 PM. Come join us!

Save The Grapevine! - Live Auction

The Board of Directors of The Grapevine have been working diligently to raise the money required to “Save The Grapevine”, meeting with persons from the city to discuss its auction and sale, and planning for our hopeful return including the repair and restoration of the building.

All of this will be for naught unless we can write a check for $50,000 for the required minimum bid to purchase The Grapevine on August 16 at 10:00 AM. A live auction will be held at this time on the grounds of the building (see auction flyer below).

We have $12,000 in our dedicated building fund. You can do the math. We need, at a minimum, an additional $38,000 to be a buyer and keep hope alive.

With this request we make one of our final “asks” for your help. Perhaps you can make a sizable contribution? Perhaps you know of someone who can? Or, perhaps you can spread the message? Do it now while you can make a difference in your life and the lives of others.
