Youth Alliance for Diversity Youth Alliance for Diversity (YAD) is a social and support group open to LGBTQIA+ youth and their allies ages 14-20. We have snacks and drinks at every meeting!

We meet every Sunday from 4-6pm at The Community Center (1088 N Orchard St, Boise, ID). In 1994, Idaho's LGBTQIAA community was forced into a political fight for its very future when they had to launch a statewide campaign to stop the anti-gay Proposition One. The initiative was narrowly defeated but Idaho's LGBT community was forever changed. One positive change was that, during the campaign, a large number of LGBT youth and their allies came to the No On One offices to volunteer after school and on weekends. When the campaign was over, the youth had no where to go. So the Idaho Youth Project was started. Over the years the focus, name, and sponsoring organizations have changed into the Youth Alliance for Diversity - now a Project of The LGBT Community Center in Boise, Idaho.

Nothing's scarier than assignments - and this Sunday (10/18), your assignment is to make a YAD appropriate presentation on a topic of your chosing! That's right, it's time for self-presentations. Come by and give a TED talk to a captive audience at 4 PM. We hope to see you there!

This Sunday (10/4), we're starting off our spooky season with a q***r history presentation of Irish author and poet; Oscar Wilde! We'll see you there at 4 PM, the usual time the usual place!

This weekend we're going to be at Pride! Come stop by our booth - and then, later this Sunday (9/20), come wind down with us after the festivities at 4 PM at the usual spot as we watch The Summer Hikaru Died. We'll see you there!

This Sunday (9/14), we're getting ready for Pride with our arts and craft activity for the month; tie dye and shirt weaving! Be sure to bring any shirts you want to dye and/or weave to the event starting at 4 PM - and make sure to wear them in the parade the following Sunday at 10 AM! Hope to see you there!

Did you know you have rights? Constitution says you do!

This Sunday (8/30) we're finishing out the month with a presentation on your basic legal rights. Nothing protects you more than knowing if something being done to you is illegal - so be there at 4 PM to get the lowdown!
