In 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the first official American flag.

One year earlier, fifty-six men pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to establish a nation unlike any the world had ever seen.

Today, as America approaches its 250th birthday, Flag Day reminds us that freedom survives only when each generation chooses to preserve it.

🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day.

With pride celebrations taking place on public property and at taxpayer expense, it's time to seriously question what the promoters of these events have against everything wholesome.

💘 In 1966, Idaho adopted Medicaid with little debate.

What seemed like a minor adjustment to public assistance law would grow into the largest government program in Idaho—touching nearly every corner of the state's healthcare system and serving roughly one in five Idahoans.

Sixty years later, it's worth asking some uncomfortable questions:

🤔 Did we prioritize compassion—or outsource it?
🤔 Does government coverage always translate into care?
🤔 Have we ever seriously examined the tradeoffs?

In Part 1 of his new series, Wayne Hoffman, guest columnist and President-Emeritus, looks back at how Medicaid came to Idaho and explores what may have been lost when charity became increasingly centralized through government bureaucracy.

📖 Read "Coverage vs. Care (Part 1)" and join the conversation.

🍽️With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it can be difficult to gather around the dinner table for a family meal.

But those moments when the phones are put away, the conversation flows, and everyone shares a hot meal together often become the memories that last a lifetime.

“All great change in America begins at the dinner table.”
-Ronald Reagan

🦖PROPERTY-TAXASAURUS ISN’T EXTINCT YET…

In the latest from Fred Birnbaum, Senior Policy Advisor for Idaho Freedom Foundation, he takes a look at the four different approaches to property tax relief—and what each one means for homeowners, business, renters, and taxpayers across Idaho. Some proposals eliminate it. Others shift it. Still others carve out exemptions that leave someone else footing the bill.

🏛️Can a government agency create and operate a program that was never properly authorized by the legislature?

📰In his new article, Brett Farruggia, Budget Policy Analyst for Idaho Freedom Foundation examines the constitutional questions surrounding the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP), the rise of Idaho’s administrative state, and the Attorney General’s opinion defending the program that was never law.

When unelected bureaucrats make law through rules and regulations, who is really governing?

Read the article and decide for yourself.
