Zoe Rosenberg is making a sacrifice to save the life of 4 animals.

In one week, Zoe could be sent to jail for rescuing four abused chickens from a Perdue slaughterhouse. Her sentencing hearing is on Wednesday, December 3rd in Santa Rosa, CA. We need you to show up for her and the animals to show the Court where the public stands. Please take time off of work or school, do whatever you need to do to be there.

Message from Captain Paul Watson:

The CPWF Irish chapter, established in 2023, is dedicated to continuing Paul Watson's legacy in Ireland. We've grown to over 20 passionate volunteers, organized company talks, events, and two years of ship tours on the John Paul DeJoria in Dublin port. Our chapter collaborates closely with other chapters, particularly the Northern Irish one.

We're excited to announce two upcoming campaigns. Operation Death Valley will start soon, focusing on protecting seals and dolphins in Ireland and investigating the increasing number of seal deaths on beaches. Many remember Fungie the dolphin from Di**le Bay, but now, thousands of dolphins are dying due to unregulated industrial fishing. Check out our CPWF Ireland page for updates.

For 2026, we have another campaign planned, details coming soon. We need your support for both initiatives. Specifically, we are looking to receive a donated 4-person RIB to access hard-to-reach areas at sea, as well as divers to capture photographic evidence. Contributions for accommodation and food for our team would also be greatly appreciated.

Please contact [email protected] to join our team!

If you're in Ireland, join us from August 15th to 17th at the Feile Vegan Festival in Lisnavagh, Co. Carlow.

BREAKING NEWS: NO WHALES WILL BE KILLED IN ICELAND THIS YEAR!

It's been a very long fight. From sinking half the Icelandic fleet in 1986 to total disruptions in 2007, 2019, 2023, 2024 and now in 2025.

In 2019, we arrived with the Brigitte Bardot and the hunt was cancelled. On the very day that the John Paul DeJoria arrived in the waters off Reykjavik, the whaling was cancelled. The whalers did kill 24 whales in the Autumn of 2023, but when the John Paul DeJoria headed toward Iceland in 2024, once again the whaling was cancelled. And this year with our ship in Dublin ready to intervene, once again the whaling has been cancelled.

In my opinion it's over- leaving only Japan, Norway and Denmark as the only nations slaughtering cetaceans. We will be watching carefully of any attempts to prepare the harpoons and we will be ready.

This was a movement of many people and organizations through education, litigation, legislation and direct action.

Great respect to Elyssia Phillips and Anahita Babaei for occupying and delaying the two whaling ships in September 2023. It is this kind of incredible courage and passion from individuals that has contributed so much to ending this atrocity.

And of course I can't neglect my team from 1986, Rod Coranado, David Howitt and Sarah Borg for sinking two of Loftsson's illegal whalers.

And to Rob Read and his team with Sea Shepherd UK, now the Captain Paul Watson Foundation UK, for the many years of documenting and gathering evidence on Loftsson's illegal operations.

For three years we stood ready and for three years Loftsson and his thugs backed down.

As campaigns go, it was not as dramatic as Whale Wars, but most importantly it was effective. As a result, hundreds of endangered Fin whales are now swimming free in the North Atlantic.

Gunnar, the holder of Iceland's second whaling permit, has listed his whale-killing ship for sale. The industry is collapsing. No whaling ships. No slaughter.

This milestone is the result of decades of resistance: This is a moment to celebrate, but not a moment to stop.

We won't rest until Icelandic whaling is not just paused - but banned forever!

For the ocean,
Captain Paul Watson

A letter from Captain Paul Watson from the United Nations Ocean Conference 2025

A week ago I said that the UNOC in Nice would be a success if the High Seas Treaty is ratified.
I am happy to report that the required 60 nations to ratify the Treaty have been secured. This is the first U.N. Conference that I have ever attended since 1972 where something real was actually achieved.
What does the High Seas Treaty mean to us?

It gives us additional authority and a solid legal defense for our interventions against illegal activities like whaling, fishing, turtle poaching, shark finning and against environmental threats like Deep Sea Mining, Plastic Debris, and other unlawful activities. The High Seas Treaty joins the United Nations World Charter for Nature as an important enforcement tool for us.

UNOC was a success for the Captain Paul Watson Foundation, Sea Shepherd France and Sea Shepherd Brazil.

Our ship the John Paul DeJoria was given permission to anchor in the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer where it was visited by many including Mayor Christian Estrosi of Nice and Mayor Heiða Björg Hilmisdóttir of Reykjavík.

During the conference, I had meetings with the Environment Ministers of Brazil, France and Panama. The Environment Minister for France Agnès Pannier-Runacher. A meeting with the First Lady of Brazil Rosângela Lula da Silva, lunch with the President of French Polynesia Moetai Charles Brotherson and dinner with the mayor of Reykjavík Heiða Björg Hilmisdóttir. Dinner with Ralph Regenvanu, Minister of Climate Change for Vanuatu.

I also had the opportunity to do a one on one interview with French President Emmanuel Macron on TV2 to an audience of approximately 4 million people. President Macron told me he would assist us in creating a sanctuary for the Orcas of Marineland in Antibes.

And of course the opportunity to network with such notable activists as Sylvia Earle, Cyrill Gutch, Hugo Clement, Randall Arauz, Alistair Allan, Dhruv Rathee, Dr. Anna von Rebay and so many others.

I spoke at the gathering for deep sea mining along with Sylvia Earle.

I also spoke at the Planet Amazon meeting with Kayapo Chief Tau Metuktire, the grandson of my friend Chief Raoni.

I flew back to Paris for a 2 hour special on TV5. We discussed the High Seas Treaty, Deep Sea Mining, overfishing and illegal fishing, dolphin bycatch, the Orca Sanctuary, ocean plastic and numerous other issues. Then I headed back to Nice for the closing on UNOC.

As we reflect on this significant achievement, it's important to remember that our work is far from over. Together, we will continue to advocate for the protection of our oceans and the preservation of marine life for future generations. Thank you for your unwavering support in this vital mission.

For the ocean,
Captain Paul Watson

INTERPOL Suspends Red Notice Against Captain Paul Watson

Great news! INTERPOL’s Commission has suspended the Red Notice against Captain Paul Watson, who was arrested in 2024 in Greenland. Denmark rejected Japan's extradition request, leading to his release. The Commission has removed the Red Notice from its Information System, ensuring that no member states can act on it until a final decision is made after June 2025, restoring Captain Watson's freedom of movement.

"After 13 years of being pursued and persecuted by Japan with an Interpol Red Notice as retribution for exposing their unlawful whaling activities in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary, Interpol has suspended the Red Notice until June when they are scheduled to make a final determination.

For 13 years I have been exiled, arrested in Germany and Greenland, imprisoned for over six months in Greenland, yet I never injured anyone. My weapon was a camera and for that Japan wants retribution for the humiliation I caused by exposing their conservation crimes." ~ Captain Paul Watson

The Commission raised serious concerns about the Notice’s compliance with INTERPOL rules, citing political motivations, disproportionate warrant terms, and violations of Watson's rights, along with inaccuracies in Japan's case. Captain Watson is optimistic about the Commission's final ruling and continues his fight for ocean conservation. In June 2025, he will speak at the UN Ocean Conference, reinforcing his role in advocating for environmental justice.

"The suspension of the red notice marks an important milestone in our efforts to challenge what is an obviously politically motivated arrest warrant, targeting Captain Watson for his decades-long commitment to ocean protection and anti-whaling campaigns.

The Commission for the Control of Files of Interpol, after a first review of our request and all evidence presented, considers that there is, at a minimum, doubts regarding the legality of the notice.

We are now eagerly waiting for the Commission decision in June and are confident that they will delete the notice." ~ William Julié, WJ Avocats, wjavocats.com

CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT FOR AN IMPOSSIBLE MISSION

https://www.paulwatsonfoundation.org/

A message from Captain Paul Watson,

When faced with a seemingly impossible mission, the answer is to find the impossible solution through the application of passion, courage and imagination. We've done the impossible before. Let's do it again.

We upheld the global moratorium on commercial whaling and sank half the outlaw Icelandic whaling fleet in 1986 without any legal repercussions. We stopped the Icelandic whalers again in 2023. We stopped them yet again in 2024. We have a job to finish, and we must stop them for good in 2025!

Last year, I spent five months in a Greenland prison for opposing illegal Japanese whaling. Being detained on an extradition demand by Japan presented me with the opportunity to use my incarceration to focus international attention on the continued illegal whaling operations of the Japanese whaling fleet and the continued unlawful slaughter of pilot whales and dolphins in the Danish Faroe Islands.

Japan failed to extradite me once again despite 13 years of persecution by politically abusing the Interpol Red Notice on the charge of conspiracy to trespass and to obstruct business. I emerged from that Greenlandic prison determined to continue the fight to abolish whaling worldwide.

Over the last fifty years, I've shut down pirate whalers, forced the Japanese whaling fleet out of the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary, sank half the Icelandic whaling fleet and half the Spanish whaling fleet. I also led a campaign to invade the Soviet Union in 1981 to secure evidence of illegal whaling.

When I began this quest in 1977, numerous nations were whale killers. We helped to end whaling in Spain, Russia, South Korea, South Africa, Peru, Chile and even Australia. It has been a long and difficult struggle and in the process thousands of whales were spared from the deadly harpoons. These victories came with a cost that I am willing to pay. Exiled, a fugitive from Japan for opposing the killing of whales and from Costa Rica for saving sharks. I have been jailed and beaten yet I have never been convicted of a felony crime.

In 2017, Costa Rica dropped the Red Notice when the government was changed, and the new Costa Rican Environment Minister called me to apologize for the previous government's false charges.

In 2022, I was unlawfully and deceitfully dismissed from the organization I created by opportunistic people that I thought were my longtime friends because they thought I was too controversial (despite our successes) and my tactics too aggressive (even though I have never injured a single person).

I am 74 years old, and I have been fighting the whalers since I was 24 and I am not ready to quit, not yet, not until the insidious slaughter of the whales worldwide is ended. This fight has been the primary purpose of my life for over half a century, and I need to follow through, I need to stop the remorseless slaughter of the largest self-aware sentient beings on this planet. And to do this I am requesting your support to allow my ships to set out on a voyage to save threatened Fin whales, the second largest life forms in the sea.

We need to be ready in two months. We need to sail for Iceland, and we need to save the lives of Fin whales threatened by the fanatical obsession of Kristján Loftsson, the wealthiest and most influential man in Iceland, a self-declared modern-day Captain Ahab. He intends to send his two ships to sea to inflict death and suffering. We intend to intervene to save lives and to uphold the global moratorium on the killing of whales.

Will you join me in this great endeavor of compassion for the lives of the whales? The Fin whales need us, and we must answer the call.

For the ocean,

Captain Paul Watson
