Yesterday, about 50 young people from the Kizito Family homes in Cité Soleil began building a road to access school building that had been flooded. The young people worked all day yesterday with Sister Paësie and will continue the work throughout the week.

A congregation of brothers ran the school in Cité Soleil. A few months ago, it was flooded with water and trash. They had to close it down and abandon it. Then the school was looted.

The brothers asked Sister Paësie to take over the school, which was attended by about 50 students.

“The access is still very difficult because it is still flooded,” Sister Paësie said.”However, we did a summer camp last week with arts and crafts for the children.”

To make repairing the school more easy, a road needed to be created. The Kizito Family youth worked together to make a way of access to the school.

“We carried sand and stones and started making a way,” said Sister Paësie. “The work will probably last another four days. The children worked hard, but the children enjoyed it at the same time.”
