Our Hear and Smoke Fund goes through September. It’s never too much or too late. We appreciate all and any aid we can provide to farmworkers enduring temps of 90+ with no shade, breaks ir access to water. When it’s advised to not go outside due to poor air quality guess who’s still out there? Farmworkers.

They feed the nation so let’s show some community appreciation together 🙌🏼

Tomorrow come through and support the 6th Annual Toys for Tatts! 🧸 hosted by ! This year we have been chosen, the Idaho Organization of Resource Council as their organization to donate to.

Toys for Tayz was founded by who started the tradition thatclients bring a toy or jacket of a $20 value and get a small tattoo of their choice for $40. Everything collected, toys jackets and money goes towards a local charity every year! They have the one and only .grivera tattooing as well as and . Stop by and check it out it will be a lot of fun!

🍺It is hop season so let’s talk about it. Idaho is #2 in the nation for hop production. What does it take to be #2 in the nation in providing hops to beer companies? A strong work force because hops are labor intensive and need lots of manual labor since the plant climbs and must be twined by hand on strings up to 18ft high. The pesticides used on hops can harm the farm workers hands when doing this labor. Today we provided local farmworkers with gloves purchased by and drinks with the JJ Saldańa Heat and Smoke funds. Thank you for helping us protect farmworkers.

"Without requirements for employers to provide workers with resources to stay cool during 100-degree temperatures, many rely on the few volunteers who visit work sites and workers’ homes to distribute water, sports drinks, hats and other supplies. Alejandra Hernandez is one of those volunteers; she lives in Mountain Home, Idaho, where many of her family members work in the fields and help connect her to workers in need.

Hernandez said many workers this summer had not received training about how to prevent heat-related illnesses.

“They aren’t taught what to do in case of a heat stroke, or how you can protect yourself from the smoke or things like that,” she said."
