Mind and Body Group for Youth Summer Programs at the Warm Springs Care Farm:
Children and teens today experience a lot of pressure from school, friendships, busy schedules, and big emotions.
This small group summer program offers a supportive space where youth can slow down, connect with their bodies, and learn practical tools to help manage stress and anxiety. Set in the peaceful environment of Warm Springs Care Farm, participants will explore mind-body practices through breathing, movement, creative art, guided imagery, and group connection, while also spending time with the farm's animals, including gentle therapy bunnies and other care farm animals that naturally support calm, curiosity, and connection. Research shows that safe interactions with animals can help regulate the nervous system by lowering stress hormones and increasing feelings of safety and connection. These sessions are based on the work of the The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, a model used in schools and communities around the workd to help youth build emotional resilience and self awareness. A team of College of Western Idaho OTA students and a Barn Clubber are taking time to connect with Muddy the muscovy. Muddy is the only surviving muscovy after the fall mink attack. What Muddy doesn't know is that in 3 weeks, 5 muscovy ducklings are on their way to grow the family. 🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥
