Young people have something important to say, and we believe they deserve to be heard!

During a recent visit to Diakon's Wilderness Center, Samira Sankaran, executive director of Pennsylvania's Governor's Advisory Commission on Next Generation Engagement, met with youth and staff to listen, learn, and better understand the experiences of young people involved in the juvenile justice system.

Her visit was a powerful reminder that when adults take the time to listen, mentor, and invest in young people, they help create opportunities that can change lives.

The Fourth of July is a time to celebrate community, hope, and the opportunities that help us grow.

We're grateful to spend each day alongside young people as they build confidence, discover their strengths, and work toward bright futures. Watching them learn, grow, and achieve their goals is something worth celebrating every day.

The influence of a caring father or father figure can last a lifetime. Father's Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the many ways they help shape lives, strengthen families, and support the next generation.

Some dads are giving their children the kind of childhood they never had themselves. They're breaking cycles, creating new traditions, and showing up day after day with love, patience, and commitment. That kind of fatherhood deserves to be celebrated.

Today can also bring mixed emotions. For those missing their fathers, remembering a father figure, or carrying the ache of someone no longer here, we hold space for you as well.

However you're spending the day, we hope it's filled with moments of gratitude, reflection, connection, and love.

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and honor the families who carry that sacrifice with them every day.

Their courage, service, and selflessness deserve our gratitude and remembrance.

Today also reminds us how important community and compassion are, taking care of one another, supporting those in need, and showing up for people when it matters most.

Today, we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, foster moms, kinship caregivers, and all those who care for others with love, patience, and compassion every day.

The support and encouragement you provide can make a lasting difference in the lives of children and communities.

We also recognize that Mother’s Day can bring many emotions, including grief, loss, or longing, and we’re holding space for those feelings today as well.
