Bogalusa High School recently transformed lunch into a vibrant celebration of community and wellness,🍉 featuring a nourishing meal of spaghetti, toast, and crisp salads prepared by their dedicated school staff.
The sweet and refreshing centerpiece of the table? Fresh Washington Parish watermelons generously provided by our friends at

and Project GROW. When we provide our students with wholesome, fresh food, we are doing more than just filling plates—we are fueling strong minds, sharp focus, and bright futures.
None of this happens in isolation. It takes a village coming together, hand in hand, to build local resilience and deep community roots.

Washington Parish Comes Together: A Sweet Week of Community and Care 🍉🤝

What an incredible week it has been right here in Washington Parish! As August draws to a close, we are reminded of the true power of neighbors lifting neighbors.
A massive, heartfelt thank you to
✨️Fair City Seafood and Produce✨️
for their generous donation of fresh, local watermelons. They provided much more than a sweet treat to beat the summer heat 😀they delivered smiles, connection, and nourishment to fuel our young minds and uplift our families.😀

Working hand-in-hand, our community network made sure these watermelons reached every corner of where they were needed most:

Community Outreach: Distributed directly to families through the Bogalusa Help Center and Bogalusa Mission Outreach.

Local Schools: Shared as a joyful surprise with students and staff at Byrd Avenue Primary, Central Elementary, Bogalusa High School, Annunciation Catholic School, and Ben's Ford Christian School.

Special Deliveries: Brought with care to residents and friends at Sabine Circle and the Nellie Byers Training Center.

This wonderful effort is just the beginning of our shared vision for Washington Parish. Our dreams are big, and every single day we take another step toward making them a reality. Together.

A Community That Feeds Itself

Across our region, people are facing quiet struggles with hunger. The heartbreaking reality is that while some have overflowing gardens, others have empty plates.
We have the resources right here in our community to ensure no one goes without. Let’s work and grow together to feed Bogalusa and Washington Parish!

Be a "Change Maker." If you don't have food to give, please consider a financial donation to one of our local non-profits. Every dollar helps us keep the doors open for those in need.

Share Your Bounty!

The harvest is here. For those who planted early, your hard work is finally bearing fruit. But as your freezers fill up, don't let that extra produce go to waste.
Instead of searching for a way to get rid of the surplus, turn your hard-earned harvest into a lifeline for a neighbor.

Here in Bogalusa two locations to donate to:
Bogalusa Help Center or
Bogalusa Mission.

If you have extra vegetables or fruit, please drop them off today or message us to coordinate a pick-up through our growing local community network.

If you dont live near Bogalusa, don't worry, within your local community there are those caring individuals who are working towards a day when no one goes hungry.
