🇺🇸 PATRIOT DAY — WE WILL NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the first responders who selflessly ran toward danger when our nation needed them most.

We also honor the men and women who, inspired by that day, answered the call to serve our country—and those who ultimately made the greatest sacrifice. Behind every fallen service member is a family who carries their memory, their love, and their legacy forward.

On Sunday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m., we invite our community to join us at Boerne Veterans Plaza for the unveiling of Boerne’s Gold Star Monument—a lasting tribute to our fallen heroes and the Gold Star Families who carry their sacrifice every day.

The Purple Heart Project of Texas remains committed to honoring their names, sharing their stories, and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

On behalf of the Purple Heart Project of Texas, Compadres Hill Country Cocina, our Board of Directors, and our incredible sponsors, we wish everyone a blessed and meaningful Patriot Day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸 Compadres Hill Country Cocina KEG 1 O'Neal, LLC.

Have you heard the news?

Chef Mark is officially bringing the past back to life as the host of Retro Rewind With Chef Mark on Boerne Radio 103.9 FM, proudly presented by The Purple Heart Project of Texas.

This isn’t just another radio show. It’s a journey back to the music, memories, fashion, movies, and food that defined the ’80s and ‘90s. It’s about remembering where you were when your favorite song came on the radio, who you dedicated it to, and the moments that became lifelong memories.

But Retro Rewind Radio is about more than nostalgia. Throughout each show, we’ll also highlight the incredible work The Purple Heart Project of Texas is doing across our communities and throughout the state—serving our veterans, honoring Purple Heart recipients, supporting Gold Star families, and giving back to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.

Beginning August 2026, listeners can enjoy live interviews, call-in song dedications, inspiring stories, and plenty of unforgettable throwback music.

The show will be available on Boerne Radio, as well as streaming on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, YouTube, and other major platforms.

If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor and helping us grow this exciting new program while supporting the mission of The Purple Heart Project of Texas, we’d love to visit with you.

Thank you for believing in our mission, supporting our community, and joining us on this exciting new adventure.
