Kendall County Retired Teachers Association October meeting was held today Oct. 6 at Longhorn Cafe in Boerne. We met upstairs for lunch. The program included speakers from the platforms of the Texas Democratic and Republican Parties and Boerne ISD Legislative Priorities. Representing the Democratic Platform was Susan Pyle, the Republican Platform was Mike Wheeler and speaking on Boerne ISD Legislative Priorties was Rich Serna. This program was very informative and important as we enter the election period.
We sincerely appreciate, Longhorn Cafe for accommodating us and for the speakers that came to share their legislative views.

The KCRTA September meeting and luncheon featured guest speakers Dr. Yvonne Munoz, Superintendent of Comfort ISD, and Dr. Kristin Craft, Superintendent of Boerne ISD. The superintendents provided an update on the progress their districts are making. They briefed us on the goals achieved over the past few years regarding employee pay and student success while expressing gratitude for the efforts of our retired teachers. We greatly appreciate the time they spent with us for their presentations.
Oh, and the food and desserts were delicious!!! 😋 Thank you Chef Gordon for the meal and thank you to the members of our group that provided the desserts.

There were 7 members (and 5 possible future members...extremely well behaved grandkids!) at the Spotted Deer this morning celebrating NOT having to go back to school. Disappointingly, all were from Boerne.
We're hoping that our Comfort friends are waiting to come next week, Tuesday Aug 11, 9:30 to Las Palapas (it's always more fun to go somewhere other than the usual).
Please invite a friend or two and come enjoy visiting and talking about vacations and travels and fun activities locally. See you soon!
