✨ A little more of what’s in store tomorrow night at Art AfterHours! ✨

Our Paper Clay Vintage Pots series is about so much more than decorating a pot. You’ll explore the process of creating cast architectural embellishments with paper clay, then learn how milk paint, chalk paint, washes, antiquing, and gilding wax can transform those details into a beautifully aged, old-world finish.

The paper clay dries hard and can be painted, layered, antiqued, and finished with gilding wax to create that rich, timeworn look — and these techniques can be taken beyond terracotta pots, too. Think furniture, decorative pieces, and all kinds of things that could use a little old-world character. 👀

HILL COUNTRY HORIZONS | ARTIST RESIDENCY

Three days. One landscape. A finished painting.

Join Texas artist Pauly Tamez for Hill Country Horizons, a 3-day start-to-finish landscape intensive exploring the Texas landscape through color, composition, brushwork, and emotion.

Working alongside Pauly, artists will move from initial studies and ideas to a completed oil landscape painting—digging into the process behind his expressive approach to the Hill Country.

Pauly’s work is rooted in both abstract expressionism and impressionism, shaped by his studies of the Texas landscape and the mentorship of renowned Texas painters Bill Zaner and David Caton.

This is an opportunity to slow down, work deeply, and spend three full days immersed in the creative process with an artist whose work is deeply connected to this place.

September 11–13, 2026 | 9AM–4PM daily

🎄❤️ A little Christmas cheer can go a long way.

We’re grateful to Paula Horner and the Boerne Star for shining a light on HCCArts’ Stocking Stuffer Program in the Lifestyle section and helping share the heart behind this special community project.

Paula beautifully captured it:

“For several years now The Hill Country Council for the Arts and the Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild have partnered to create the Stocking Stuffer program—a great Kendall community project.”

For years, HCCArts and the Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild have come together to bring Christmas cheer to women in our community. This year, our goal is to provide 150 handmade, stuffed stockings to deserving moms and women served by the Kendall County Women’s Shelter and Hill Country Pregnancy Center.

Each stocking is made with care, filled with thoughtful donations, and given with the hope of making someone feel remembered and celebrated this holiday season. ❤️

Solar printing is a dyeing process that utilizes UV exposure. Join us and create a unique textile piece using found objects, negative images, and 3D objects. The dye changes color and becomes permanent when exposed to light.

We’ll apply the medium to fabric, choose the image, expose the piece to light, and finish the procedure. This process allows for extreme detail and novel forms—even for tone-on-tone designs!
