🎓 Viner Scholar Spotlight: Marcklen 🎓

This summer, Civil Engineering major and Viner Scholar Marcklen spent his time as a Development Services Intern at Kimley-Horn, marking his second summer with the company.

Building on his previous experience, Marcklen broadened his skill set by working on a wider variety of projects, taking on greater responsibilities, and continuing to grow as a future civil engineer.

In his own words: "Every project challenged me to think critically, ask better questions, and become more confident in my abilities. I'm excited to bring everything I've learned back to Florida A&M University for my final year and look forward to seeing where this journey takes me."

Congratulations, Marcklen! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next. 👏

🌟 Viner Scholars Spotlight 🌟

This semester at FAMU, Viner Scholar Ja'Niah is stepping into two new leadership roles with the Black Venture Capital Consortium (BVCC): Venture Capital Track Leader and Chapter Parliamentarian!

As Track Leader, Ja'Niah will help guide fellow scholars through the world of venture capital, building the next generation of investors and dealmakers. As Parliamentarian, she'll help keep the chapter running smoothly and true to its mission.

We are so proud to see Ja'Niah take on this responsibility and represent the Viner Scholars program with excellence. Congratulations, Ja'Niah! We can't wait to see what you build this semester.

🎉 Congratulations to Viner Alumni Olivia! 🎉

Olivia was part of the Viner Class of 2023 and went on to graduate from FSU with a degree in Business Management. She just took the next big step, earning her MBA from Lynn University with a specialization in Leadership and Management, and she did it with an incredible 4.0 GPA!

Olivia isn't stopping there. She's now giving back as a mentor to a current Viner Scholar, helping guide the next generation the same way she once was guided.

We are so proud of you, Olivia. Your dedication and hard work continue to inspire us all! 🎓✨

🎓 Celebrating Our Partnership with Bound For College 🎓

This year, Bound for College proudly sponsored the Mark Sauer Scholarship through Viner Scholars, giving 2 deserving students the chance to attend college without the weight of financial burden.

"Mark Sauer devoted the last 20 years of his life to helping first-generation college students get to college. BFC has graduated over 350 college grads and 160 are currently attending college. This summer, Viner Scholar Alexandros worked with the STEPUP Program at the University of Florida, mentoring incoming engineering students as they made the leap into college life.

Through academic workshops and team activities, he helped students navigate the transition into engineering, offering guidance and encouragement as they began this new chapter.

"One of the most rewarding parts of this experience was watching the students grow throughout the program. Seeing them become more confident, build connections with their peers, and begin to find their place within the engineering community reminded me of the importance of having people around you who are willing to support and encourage you."

"This experience challenged me to grow as a leader, communicator, and mentor. It also taught me that mentorship goes both ways."

This summer, Viner Scholar Saima interned with Allied Global Marketing, an agency that works with film studios on marketing and events. Based in their Fort Lauderdale office, she helped plan and support film marketing events across the Miami and Orlando areas.

In Saima's words:

"This internship taught me so much about marketing, from research and event planning to influencer outreach and pitching creative ideas. It helped me come out of my shell, become more confident sharing my ideas, and learn how to work with a team and learn from professionals in the film marketing industry.

Most importantly, this experience gave me hope for my future after graduation and showed me that there is a place for me in creative marketing and PR roles. I'm so grateful for everything I learned and for the people who helped me grow this summer!"

🎓 Congratulations to Viner Scholar Stephany! 🎓

Stephany just graduated Cum Laude from FAU a full year early with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, focused on International Business. She's not stopping there. She'll be continuing on at FAU to pursue her Master's in International Business.

In her own words:

"Being a Viner Scholar has truly changed my life and my mom's life. The scholarship allowed me to focus on gaining valuable experience without the financial burden that would have otherwise affected both of us. It also made it possible for me to graduate earlier than I originally planned, helping me reach my goals sooner. I'm incredibly grateful for the scholarship and especially for my mentor, who has supported and encouraged me throughout this journey. This opportunity has had a lasting impact on both my personal and professional growth."

This summer, Arantxa took her medical aspirations across the globe for an unforgettable hands-on internship in Madrid, Spain!

During her time abroad, Arantxa stepped right into the heart of healthcare, shadowing physicians across plastic surgery, gynecology, podiatry, and general medicine. From mastering proper sterile scrubbing techniques to observing complex surgical procedures and assisting directly in the operating room, she gained invaluable, real-world insight into patient care and the multifaceted roles of physicians.

🌟 Viner Scholar Spotlight: Maria 🌟

This summer, Maria brought her talent and hard work to the FIFA World Cup as a volunteer with the Media and Operations department!

From supporting photographers and journalists to assisting during press conferences and mixed zones, Maria was there every step of the way. Need help with equipment? Accreditation questions? Anything media related? Maria had it covered.

We are so proud of Maria for representing the Viner Scholars program on such a massive global stage.
