The U.S. Congress honored Benjamin Berell Ferencz, one of the chief prosecutors at the Nuremberg trials, with a posthumous Congressional Gold Medal, its highest civilian accolade, on Tuesday, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Yom HaShoah 2026 (Holocaust Remembrance Day) begins at sundown on Monday, April 13, 2026, and ends the evening of Tuesday, April 14, 2026. It is a day of commemoration for the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, featuring ceremonies, the sounding of sirens in Israel, and educational events worldwide.
