The legend of Roro Jonggrang is one of Indonesia's most famous folktales. A story of love, war, magic, and betrayal connected to the magnificent Prambanan Temple.

According to the legend, Prince Bandung Bondowoso nearly completed 1,000 temples in a single night to win the hand of Princess Roro Jonggrang. But a clever trick changed everything, ending with a curse that transformed the princess into stone.

While the story is legendary, Prambanan itself is very real. Built in the 9th century and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it remains the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia and one of Southeast Asia's greatest cultural treasures.

From one great kingdom came 4 living royal courts.

The Mataram Sultanate once ruled most of Java and shaped the foundations of Javanese culture.

But in 1755, the Treaty of Giyanti divided the kingdom into separate courts that still survive today:
* Surakarta Sunanate
* Mangkunegaran Duchy
* Yogyakarta Sultanate
* Pakualaman Duchy

More than 250 years later, these palaces continue preserving one of the world’s oldest living court cultures.

For 500 years, the world has been told that Magellan led the first journey around the Earth.

But what if the first person to truly complete it… wasn’t European?

Enrique of the Moluccas, a Southeast Asian translator and navigator, may have already circled the globe, long before the expedition officially ended.

But one thing is clear:
History is bigger than what we were taught.

What if a tunnel could connect more than just two places?

In Jakarta, the TEROWONGAN SILATURAHMI (Tunnel of Unity) links a mosque & a cathedral, but more importantly, it connects hearts.

Built between Istiqlal Mosque & Jakarta Cathedral, this space represents something rare in today’s world:
- Mutual respect
- Shared humanity
- Unity in diversity

From daily life to major religious celebrations, this tunnel reminds us that differences don’t divide us. They complete us.

Every story has a place. And today, we celebrate Indonesia’s.

On March 30th, Indonesia honors its National Film Day, inspired by the first day of filming Darah dan Doa (The Long March) by Usmar Ismail in 1950. A milestone that marked the birth of modern Indonesian cinema.

From local stories to global screens, Indonesian films continue to grow, inspire, and connect cultures.

Happy National Film Day to those who chase the perfect light and never stop telling stories.
