💚What does true inclusion look like? 💙

Recently, members of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton had the privilege of touring the HAB Center and joining community leaders for the ribbon cutting of its new Sensory Room.

Since 1978, the HAB Center has empowered adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities by providing meaningful opportunities for employment, friendship, personal growth, and independence. Through vocational training, manufacturing programs, and their renowned plant nursery, HAB creates a place where every individual is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

We are grateful for the work HAB continues to do in our community and proud to celebrate this exciting new addition that will enhance the lives of those they serve.

Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating a very special milestone: Myron Yudkin's 98th birthday! 🎉

A true pillar of our community, Myron's dedication to service, philanthropy, and leadership has left an immeasurable impact on Boca Raton and beyond. Earlier this year, we were proud to recognize him as the 2026 OPAL Rotarian Honoree, honoring a lifetime of generosity, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to helping others.

At 98, Myron continues to inspire us all with his kindness, wisdom, and passion for making a difference. His legacy serves as a reminder that one person's dedication can positively shape countless lives.

Please join us in wishing Myron a very happy birthday and thanking him for the extraordinary example he sets for our community every day. 💙

Crystals. Dizziness. Vertigo. Today’s Rotary luncheon had us looking at balance in a whole new way. 💫

We welcomed Rotarians, guests, friends, family members, and community leaders for an informative presentation by Dr. Liam Carroll of
Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

Dr. Carroll shared fascinating insights into Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), the condition often responsible for the sudden sensation that “the room is spinning.” He explained how tiny crystals within the inner ear affect our balance and why reports of dizziness increased significantly following COVID, due in part to infection-related vestibular disturbances and decreased physical activity during the pandemic.

One particularly important takeaway: if you experience a spinning sensation accompanied by additional symptoms, seek medical attention immediately. 🚨

Thank you, Dr. Carroll, for helping us better understand this common but often misunderstood condition, and thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of learning, fellowship, and community connection.

✨ OPAL Society Spotlight: Doris & Neil Gillman ✨

Doris and Neil Gillman have made an extraordinary impact on the Boca Raton community through their generosity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Their support of organizations such as Sweet Dream Makers, Caridad Center, Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, and Boca Raton Regional Hospital has helped provide critical resources for children and families in need—from pediatric healthcare and facility improvements to programs that ensure every child has a safe place to sleep.

Through their involvement, thousands of lives have been touched, often in quiet, meaningful ways that reflect their deep compassion and dedication to service.

The Gillmans have supported the OPAL Awards Gala for many years, and we are incredibly thankful for their continued support and belief in our mission.

We are honored to recognize Doris and Neil as valued members of the OPAL Society - true examples of leadership, generosity, and community impact.
