Elevar Foundation / EOIVC

Elevar Foundation / EOIVC The Elevar Foundation, home to the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition (EOIVC), was established by American violinist, Elmar Oliveira.

The Elevar Foundation, home to the EOIVC, is a new and vital organization that offers free or low-cost community engagement programs, instruments and music supplies as well as lessons to underserved individuals or organizations. This new organization will help to expand the already vital community engagement efforts of the EOIVC, a triennial competition that is aimed at providing talented violinis

ts, ages 16-32, who are at the start of their careers, with networking, management, public relations, and concert opportunities in addition to a monetary prize. The Elevar Foundation's primary objective is to make music accessible to underserved communities by providing or supporting opportunities, often in association with other partner organizations as well as those associated with the EOIVC.

🎶 Happy birthday Andrés Cárdenes🎶

Today is the day when we honor:

🎻A master violinist whose artistry has reached audiences around the world.
🎻A collaborator with some of the great conductors of our time.
🎻A musician whose career spans decades—and whose impact continues to grow.

But beyond the accolades, Andrés’s greatest contribution may be the way he has used music to bring people together, to mentor, and to give back.

In honor of his birthday, we invite you to celebrate Andrés in a meaningful way with a gift that supports the artists, programs, and communities he cares so deeply about.

As we get ready to celebrate Andrés Cárdenes's birthday on May 2, we invite you to honor his belief in music as a force for good.

Music has the power to meet people exactly where they are. Andrés has never lost sight of that.

Through the Elevar Foundation, he has shared music with residents of Alzheimer’s Community Care centers—a valued partner of the Foundation—and with students in the Nat King Cole Generation Hope program, inspiring young musicians as they begin their journeys.

Your support helps us bring music into communities where it can uplift, connect, and heal.

Behind every great artist is a teacher who believed in them. For generations of musicians, Andrés Cárdenes has been that teacher.

As Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at the Lynn Conservatory of Music and Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Carnegie Mellon University, Andrés has shaped not only extraordinary violinists, but thoughtful musicians who carry his values forward.

As we celebrate Andrés’s birthday this week, we invite you to honor his commitment to teaching and mentorship by supporting the work of the Elevar Foundation—home to the Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival, where he serves as Founder and Artistic Director.

Your gift helps create opportunities for young artists to learn, grow, and find their voice.

The gang’s all here.

On April 19, the Elevar Foundation, in collaboration with Temple Sinai of Palm Beach County, presented pianist Lana Suran and violist Gerald Karni in a standing-room-only program featuring Schumann, Scarlatti, Sitt, and Ravel.

A special note—Gerald performed on a viola generously on loan from Barnesviolins LLC, longtime supporters of Elevar Foundation and EOIVC.

Even more meaningful was having three extraordinary champions of the violin world in the audience: Vladimir Zhabezinsky, Andres Cardenes, and Giancarlo Arcieri. Their continued support means the world to us.

Lana and Gerald were both featured artists at the 2025 Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival, performing alongside Founder & Artistic Director Andrés Cárdenes—making this moment all the more special.
