Calling all PBC Local Unit Treasurers and Presidents,

This month, we invite you to join us for our annual Local Unit Treasurer Training!
Whether you are a new treasurer, a seasoned PTA leader, or a president looking to better understand your unit’s financial responsibilities, this training is designed to provide the tools, resources, and confidence you need to successfully manage your PTA’s finances.
This training will be a deep dive into best practices for PTA fiscal responsibility, including important information to help your local unit maintain accurate records, follow proper financial procedures, and stay in compliance with PTA requirements.

We’ll cover key topics such as:
• Understanding the treasurer’s role and responsibilities
• Budgeting and financial planning
• Proper handling of deposits, payments, and reimbursements
• Financial reporting and recordkeeping
• Internal controls and financial safeguards
• Annual financial reviews
• Common questions and challenges facing local unit treasurers
Treasurers are strongly encouraged to attend, and Presidents are welcome and encouraged to join as well! A strong partnership between the president and treasurer is essential to maintaining a healthy and financially responsible PTA.

📋 Before You Submit Your PTA Audit

A complete and accurate audit submission helps prevent unnecessary delays or rejection. Before clicking Submit, take a few minutes to confirm that:

✅ The complete June bank statement is attached
✅ The audit submission date is written on the form
✅ All required signatures are included
✅ Every required question and section has been completed
✅ An Audit Findings/Corrective Action Memo is included when an explanation is required
✅ Lines 9, 10 and 11 are left blank when they are not applicable

Remember: If a required procedure was not completed or you answered NO to a question requiring further explanation, your memo should identify what occurred, why it occurred and how your PTA will correct the issue going forward.

Complete the final 60-second review before submitting, and share this reminder with your PTA officers and audit committee.
