Thirteen years after joining the registry at a Camp Young Judaea-Texas swab drive, Los Angeles-based artist Jonathan received the call that he was a match for a patient battling leukemia.

He traveled from Los Angeles to South Florida to donate his stem cells, giving someone a second chance at life.

At Gift of Life, we take care of every step of the process, including travel, hotel accommodations, transportation, and more, so donors can focus on what matters most: saving a life.

Debra's family wasn't a match, but Ian was.

After Debra was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), a blood became her best chance at a cure. Ian had joined the Gift of Life Marrow Registry years earlier, never knowing he would one day save her life.

In 2022, they met for the first time at a Cocktails and Conversation event in Nantucket, Massachusetts. One simple cheek swab led to a moment neither of them will ever forget. 🧔

ONE MONTH UNTIL WORLD MARROW DONOR DAY! 🧔

On September 22, we will join people in more than 60 countries to celebrate the selfless blood stem cell and marrow donors who give patients hope for a cure.

More than 44 million potential donors are registered worldwide, yet over 8% of global searches still result in zero matches. Every person who joins the registry can help bring us closer to finding a match for every patient.

Join Gift of Life in counting down to and thanking the donors who make second chances possible.

Keith is a husband and father of three who wants nothing more than to be home with his family.

The 35-year-old is currently receiving treatment for myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer, 800 miles from his family’s home in Kentucky. He urgently needs a blood stem cell or marrow transplant, but his matching donor has not been found.

Joining the registry only takes a cheek swab. You could be the person Keith and his family are waiting for. 🧔

Visit www.giftoflife.org/Keith to order your swab kit, and please share this post to help us find his match.

For Ross, being a Gift of Life Campus Ambassador at Indiana University now carries an even deeper meaning. 🧔

After joining the registry on campus last year, Ross received the call that he was a match for a patient battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He recently donated his stem cells at Hoxworth Blood Center.

Ross continues to encourage students at IU to join the registry, but now he can speak from personal experience about where one cheek swab can lead.

Show Ross some love in the comments below! ā¬‡ļø
