Teachers shouldn’t have to pay out of pocket to meet their students’ needs.

In 2025, teachers spent an average of $895 of their own money on school supplies.
At neighborhood bridges, we believe teachers should be focused on teaching—not using their own paychecks to make sure students have basic needs.

That’s another one of the reasons neighborhood bridges exists: to help remove those barriers and support the teachers who show up for our students every day.

We’ve launched an exciting partnership with the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) and The Sandlin Foundation for Kids & Kindness. Take a moment to watch the news coverage featuring David Bannister and Mo Canady.

The three organizations are bringing relationships, resources, and technology together to help schools identify students’ unmet needs—and to connect those needs with people in the community who are ready to help.

This partnership gives us the opportunity to bring that support to more communities and, ultimately, to more students with the help of the SROs already in our schools.

💜 Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today, we’re celebrating the teachers who show up every single day for their students—often doing far more than anyone sees.

At neighborhood bridges, supporting the people who support our students is incredibly important to us. We’re grateful for the teachers who give so much of themselves to help students learn, grow, and believe in what’s possible.

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for caring. Thank you for making a difference. 💜

At neighborhood bridges, we believe in the power of collaboration.

By working with other amazing local non-profits, we can bridge resources, share ideas, and solve problems right here in our community.

Together, we’re creating stronger, kinder communities—one connection at a time.

Thank you to all the organizations we work with who share our vision of spreading kindness and addressing needs locally. Let’s continue to make a difference together!
