PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION, THE P O BOX AND WHAT YOU NEED TO DO HAS CHANGED!
As the holiday season approaches, we understand how times can be tough. Toys for Youngstown Kids are here to help the best that we can, as we have for the past 5 years. Toys for Youngstown Kids runs on sponsorships and volunteers, so please be patient with us in posting the letters as well as often responding to messages.
In order to qualify for assistance, we ask that you reside in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties
Your child must write a letter to Santa if your child is too young to write the letter you can write the letter and include a handprint or footprint. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE GUIDELINES THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED FOR YOUR CHILDS LETTER TO BE POSTED:
YOUR CHILDS FIRST NAME MUST BE ON THE LETTER, HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT TO GIVE LAST NAMES, SCHOOLS, OR PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT IDENTIFIES THEM IN THE LETTER.
THEIR LETTER MUST INCLUDE THEIR AGE AND IF THEY ARE IN NEED OF CLOTHING ITEMS THEY MUST HAVE THEIR SIZES LISTED,
ON A SEPERATE PAPER YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE THE CHILD’S GUARDIAN INFORMATION THAT INCLUDES YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME, A PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT YOU, YOUR ADDRESS AND IF THE CHILD HAS ANY SPECIAL NEEDS. ALSO IF YOU HAVE A FACEBOOK PAGE PLEASE INCLUDE THE NAME ON THE FACEBOOK SO THAT WE CAN MESSAGE A COPY OF THE PARTY INVITATION TO YOU.
Your children’s letters will be presented to the sponsors and they will assist us in getting items off of your child’s Christmas list to Santa. Please keep in mind that if you have received sponsorship before, the letters from other children will be presented first. DO NOT ASK IF YOUR CHILD HAS BEEN SPONSORED. WE WILL NOT BE ANSWERING SUCH QUESTIONS. ALL CHILDREN WILL BE INVITED TO THE PARTY, HOWEVER NOT ALL CHILDREN WILL BE SPONSORED.
PLEASE DO NOT WRITE A WISH LIST FOR YOURSELVES, THIS IS ABOUT THE CHILDREN AND IN ORDER TO HAVE YOUR CHILDS LETTER LOOK MORE APPEALING TO THE SPONSORS YOU WILL WANT TO LEAVE OUT WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THIS CHRISTMAS.
Santa himself will write your child informing them of the holiday party that we will be holding so that they can come and meet Santa, his elves and some of his friends. While they visit with Santa the items that have been given will be discreetly given to you so that you may wrap them and present them to your children on Christmas morning.
The Holiday Party will be given via message as well. At this time all I can tell you is that the party will be in Mahoning County. YOUR CHILD MUST BE PRESENT WITH YOU IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE ITEMS THAT ARE BOXED FOR YOUR CHILD. YOU WILL BE GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT TIME TO ARRIVE, PLEASE DO NOT COME HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE ITEMS FROM THE TRUCK UNTIL YOUR APPOINTMENT TIMES. WE PACK THE TRUCKS ACCORDING TO TIMES. Also, please note that there will be no violent toys (such as play guns or knives) and due to financial reasons we are not able to purchase gaming systems, iPhones, laptops or high-end electronics.
WE WILL BE HAVING OUR GIVE AWAY TABLES THAT WILL HAVE USED CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, AND HYGIENE ITEMS. WHEN YOU ARE AT THE PARTY YOU ARE WELCOME TO HELP YOURSELF, HOWEVER KEEP IN MIND THAT WE HAVE SEVERAL HOURS IN WHICH FAMILIES WILL BE ARRIVING SO PLEASE ONLY TAKE WHAT YOU NEED.
