We had a GREAT time at our annual picnic last week. The rain cooperated by staying away until the end. It was great to meet in person, share food, tell stories, and share our thoughts and concerns about the environment.

“Today’s Plastic Environmental Dilemma”
The program leader:
Steve Blazey
Steve worked over 45 years as a chemist “primarily focused on the development of consumer plastic products that utilized a wide variety of different polymers for many different commercial applications – medical, industrial, farming/agriculture, automotive and more.”
He plans to address what is being done by the plastic industry TODAY to address the plastic environmental dilemma. His PowerPoint presentation will cover at least:
·Global plastics growth
·Today’s plastics – differences, applications
·The ‘life cycle’ of plastics, and ‘carbon effect’ on the environment
·Programs initiated by plastics producers to address environmental concerns
·Thoughts on the future of plastics
As usual, there will be time for comments, questions and answers.
