أعزائنا أفراد الجالية العربية الأمريكية الكرام في يونجستاون
بعد الكثير من التمعن والتفكير فيما يخص انتخابات الهيئه الإداريه في مركز الجاليه العربيه في مدينة ينجستاون، وللأسف الشديد، قررنا ، عدم المشاركه في انتخابات اليوم للهيئة الإدارية، بالإجماع ،نظرا للظروف الحاليه والتصرفات الغير اخلاقيه، والغير مستقيمه. ونظراً للتجاهل التام من قبل الهيئه الاداريه الحاليه لحقوق معظم افراد الهيئه العامه للمؤسسة بالأخص، وأفراد الجاليه العربيه عامّةً، قررنا عدم التفاعل في انتخابات اليوم، رافضين ايدلوجيات العنصريه التي يحتفظ بها هذا المركز حاليًا.
مهمتنا متمثلة في تشكيل مجتمع متماسك فيه تخالط قومي، قوي وفعال، بعيداً عن التشخيص والإشهار، رافضين بتاتاً المشاركة في مثل هذه الانتخابات وهذه المؤسسه.
تم الاتفاق على هذا القرار بين جميع المرشحين من دائرتنا الانتخابية لأسباب تشمل ولا تحصر على ما يلي:
• صعوبة التعامل مع اللجنه المشرفه على الانتخابات بطريقة حيادية ومستقلة ، علاوة على استمرار تعقيد القضايا الانتخابية والتحيز لمجموعة واحدة من المرشحين على الأخرى. يجيد بالذكر، ترسيخ صفحات التواصل الإجتماعي للنادي العربي لفئه واحده من المرشحين، واستعمال بريد النادي الالكتروني لخدمة هؤلاء المرشحين.
• الخلافات الجيليه والشخصيه في هذا المركز التي حالت دون قيام ديمقراطية داخل دستور عادل متساوي بين كل افراد الهيئه العامه، والإستهتار في الأنظمة الداخلية لهذه المنظمة.
• لم تُمارس أحكام الدستور الداخلي من جهة الهيئه الحاليه بشكل عادل وشفاف وضمن نطاقه في العديد من الحالات، . وإضفاء الطابع الشخصي على العديد من القضايا التي أدت بدورها إلى مشاكل عديده بين افراد مجتمعنا الكريم. وعدم ممارسة الانتخابات القانونيه في السنوات الماضيه بالشكل الصحيح، ولم تثبت القوانين والدساتير من قبل الجمعيه العموميه بالشكل القانوني.
• الشمول الجزئي للأعضاء الجدد في المؤسسه وغياب بيئة ترحيبية للعائلات والاعضاء الجدد بكل خلفياتها لهذا المركز، وفقدان آلية التخطيط، وقلّة النشاطات التي تجمع وتعزز من العلاقات بين افراد جاليتنا الكريمة، وفي بعض الأحيان انعدامها من نشاطات نسائيه ونشاطات الاطفال التعليميه.
• عدم توفير الفرص لجميع الأعضاء الراغبين والمؤهلين للعمل بشكل جماعي مع اللجنة التنفيذية الحالية بطريقة متماسكة ومحترمة دون خلق العداء والفصل والحصرية.
• عدم الكشف عن المستندات للأعضاء الذين يطلبونها في الوقت المناسب. مثل حجب القائمة النهائية لجميع الأعضاء إلى الجمعية العامة بعد طلبها لعدة مرات ولايام عديده، والترخي في توصيل القانون الداخلي للجمعية العامة، لفتره طويله ، مع العلم انه بموجب القانون، يجب توفير نسخه فوريه لأي عضو من اعضاء الهيئه العامه.
• استخدام الترهيب والسلطة كتكتيك لإبعاد الأعضاء الجدد والمرشحين المحتملين عن طرح أسئلة مناسبة أو اقتراح مُثُل جديدة. (على سبيل المثال ، لم يُسمح في معظم الاجتماعات بإجراء حوار مفتوح حيث تم تنظيمها من قبل أعضاء اللجنة الحاليين).
• التهديد بمنع أعضاء جدد معينين من المشاركة في الانتخابات بحجة أنه "لم يكن هناك ما يكفي من المعلومات الديموغرافية التي تم جمعها في وقت التسجيل" في حين أنه في الواقع ، من واجب مركز الجاليه العربيه الحصول على جميع المعلومات عند دفع مستحقات العضوية اللتي استحقتها الهيئه الاداريه مباشرة وعدم الاكتفاء في تلك اللحظه بجمع رسوم التسجيل وتسجيل الاسماء فقط.
• عدم الإهتمام بتعزيز التنوع العرقي والديني والديموغرافي داخل المجتمع المحلي على الإطلاق.
في ضوء القضايا المذكورة أعلاه، نعتقد أن المشاركه في الإنتخابات لا تتوافق مع النهج الذي نسعى إلى تحقيقه ولا يليق في اهداف هذه المجموعه ونواياها بجمع وتقدم وخدمة جاليتنا الكريمه.

Dear Our Distinguished Arab-American Community Members of Youngstown,
After much thought, we, the candidates for the Arab American Community Center of Youngstown (AACC) 2022 executive committee, unfortunately have unanimously decided not to participate in todays elections. Our decision was based upon the immoral practices, unjust ethics, racist ideologies, and complete disregard for morality that the Community Center currently holds. Our mission to form a cohesive community has too much honor to be affiliated in such elections.
This decision was agreed on upon amongst all candidates from our constituency for the reasons including but not limited to:
1.) The severe difficulty of dealing with the Elections Committee in an impartial and independent manner, furthermore continuing to complicate the election issues.
2.) Generational disputes within the current committee that have prevented a healthy democracy within the AACC constitution, and dishonorable behavior of the organization’s internal regulations. (i.e. Character defamation and provoking friction among the community by slander).
3.) The presence of unregulated elections that have taken place over the last several terms which have tainted the internal constitution. The terms of the constitution have not been exercised in a democratic way. (i.e., personalizing issues which in turn created seditions. Such seditions were given precedence over the community and its needs and interests).
4.) Being non inclusive to new members of the community and not providing a welcoming community environment for new members regardless of differences in backgrounds.
5.) Lack of the current organization in event planning, gathering, and equally catering to the needs and wants of the community.
5.) Failure to provide opportunities for all qualified and willing members to work collectively with the existing Executive Committee in a cohesive and respectful manner without creating hostility, segregation, and exclusivity.
6.) Failure to disclose documents to the General Assembly that repeatedly requested them in a timely manner. (i.e. withholding the final list of all new and existing members to the General Assembly. Not releasing the bylaws in a timely manner to the General Assembly, under the knowledge that there should be a copy present on premise, by law).
7.) Practicing intimidation and abuse of power. Disregarding new members and prospective candidates away from asking adequate questions or suggesting new ideals. (i.e., electoral meetings were not allowed to have open dialogue and were orchestrated by existing committee members).
8.) Threatening to ban new members from participating in the elections under the pretense that there was “not enough demographic information collected at the time of sign up” when it is in fact, the AACC’s duty to obtain all information upon receiving membership dues. (i.e., collecting membership dues without properly checking said demographical errors, writing written receipts with names only, written in Arabic, were deemed sufficient at the time of collecting money).
9.) The AACC’s lack of interest in promoting ethnic, religious, and demographic diversity within the community, whether by representation or by activities and functions.
In light of all the foregoing aforementioned issues within the AACC, we believe that participation in the 2022 AACC Elections does not morally or ethically align with the mission that our constituency is striving to achieve within the community.
Therefore, our constituency will not tolerate nor participate in todays elections with the current organization.
We will further advise our community on what our next decision is upon the organizations correction to these current issues.
