𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆. 💙

One of the hardest things about aging out of foster care is that the longing for family never really goes away.

Many of our MYAs still deeply love their biological families. They long for connection, acceptance, and healing. But sometimes those relationships also carry deep pain, trauma, and reminders of wounds that have never fully healed- there’s a reason why they were in foster care.

At Moab House, we have learned that healing often begins in very small moments.

A conversation at the dining room table.
A late-night talk in the kitchen.
Someone sitting beside them while they cry.
Someone listening without judgment.
Someone reminding them they belong.

And when one of our MYAs walks into the room hurting, we stop.

The to-do’s wait.
The schedule waits.
The calls wait.

Because in that moment, what matters most is making sure they feel seen, loved, and important.

Our MYAs don’t just need housing.
They need a home. 💙

𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑴𝑶𝑨𝑩 𝑴𝑰𝑵𝑼𝑻𝑬: MYA’s On The Move 🚗💙

This week was a huge milestone for one of our MYAs as he purchased his very first car!

What makes this story even more special is the way our community came together. A volunteer who owns a local body shop helped make this possible, along with a couple who listened to the Lord’s leading and chose to bless our MYA in a way that reminded all of us what generosity and compassion truly look like.

At Moab House, we believe transportation is one of the major barriers former foster youth face when transitioning into adulthood. Getting to work, making appointments, attending school, buying groceries, building confidence- it all becomes incredibly difficult without reliable transportation and the ability to drive.

That’s why we don’t just encourage our MYAs to get a license- we actively help them:

💰Save money for a vehicle
🚗 Practice driving safely
👷Learn responsibility behind the wheel
📚Work toward earning their driver’s license
🔧Understand vehicle ownership and maintenance

For many young adults aging out of foster care, there are no trusted adults available to teach them how to drive, help them practice, or guide them through the process. Moab House is working to fill that gap in a safe, loving, and productive way.

We are so proud of our MYA. This is more than a car- it’s another step toward freedom, confidence, and independence. 💙

If you or someone you know has an outdoor bike rack like this, Moab House is currently in need of one! 🚲

At Moab House, we have multiple bikes available for our MYAs to use anytime, and we’re working to create an easy, organized way to store them safely.

Also- if you or someone you know enjoys fixing up bikes, replacing tires, tuning them up, or helping with basic bike maintenance, we could really use the help keeping them in good shape for our young adults.

Our house is situated on the most beautiful campus in the Valley 🌼
