Blooms upon blooms! 🌼

Lanceleaf coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata), also known as tickseed, provides golden blooms all summer long! This native wildflower has a reputation for being easy to propagate from seed and very prolific.

Is lanceleaf coreopsis still flowering in your garden this month? ☀️

Native plants are the place to be, at least for pollinators! 🌸🐛

Wild bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) has been in bloom across the state. This beautiful flower offers nectar and pollen for a wide range of pollinators. All kinds of butterflies, bees, wasps, beetles, moths, and more take advantage of what it has to offer!

This eastern tiger swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) was spotted fluttering all around the wild bergamot!

We are so incredibly grateful for our local community members! 🌿 We recently received a wonderful boost to our conservation and education efforts through employer-matching gifts via Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) America. A huge thank you to the employees at Merck and Constellation who chose to support Pennsylvania’s native plants and habitats.

Did you know many companies match their employees' charitable donations or volunteer hours? Check with your employer to see if you can double your impact for PA native plants!

All contributions made to PNPS support our mission through outreach initiatives, educational events, the annual grant program, and more! 💚

Have you heard the good news? 🌼🐝
The Native Habitats at Commonwealth Facilities Act, House Bill 426, was passed through the PA House of Representatives with strong bipartisan support!

This bill would encourage any new construction of a garden, lawn, or green space at state facility to prioritize insecticide-free native plants and flowers. Across the Commonwealth, our state offices would demonstrate the importance of native plants in our landscape!

After passing through the House, HB 426 is now being considered in the PA Senate. If you’d like to see this bill enacted, please reach out to members of the PA Senate Environmental Resources & Energy Committee, and your own representatives to let them know you support native plant landscaping!
