BLYTHEWOOD ROAD & US-21 CORRIDORS FEASIBILITY STUDY COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE ANNOUNCED
Public Invited to Help Shape the Future of Transportation, Mobility, and Growth in the Blythewood Community

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (05/26/2026) – As the Blythewood region experiences unprecedented growth fueled by major economic development, infrastructure investments, and expanding residential communities, the Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG) is inviting residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to participate in the Blythewood Road & US-21 Corridors Feasibility Study Community Open House.

The public meeting will take place Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Doko Manor, located at 100 Alvina Hagood Circle in Blythewood, South Carolina, 29016

The open house will provide attendees an opportunity to learn more about the study, review corridor concepts and transportation data, ask questions, and provide direct feedback regarding future roadway, mobility, and connectivity improvements throughout the Blythewood Road and US-21 corridors.

Representatives from the project will be onsite with corridor maps, project displays, and study materials to gather community input and discuss potential transportation solutions designed to improve safety, accessibility, and future mobility throughout the study area.

The feasibility study is focused on evaluating:
• Traffic and safety improvements
• Roadway connectivity enhancements
• Bicycle and pedestrian access
• Future growth and transportation planning
• Mobility and infrastructure opportunities
• Long-term community transportation needs

The project team is placing a strong emphasis on proactive community engagement and stakeholder collaboration throughout the study process. Outreach efforts include coordination with local elected officials, neighborhood organizations, faith leaders, schools, businesses, economic development groups, and community advocates to ensure broad public participation and transparency throughout the planning effort.

Community participation is considered a critical component of the study and will help guide recommendations for future transportation investments within the corridor.
