🇺🇸✨ Honoring Juneteenth ✨🇺🇸

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth — a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, hope, and progress. It is a time to reflect on our history, honor the resilience and contributions of African Americans, and reaffirm our commitment to equality, unity, and opportunity for all.

May we continue to learn from the past, celebrate how far we’ve come, and work together to build a brighter future for generations to come. ❤️💚🖤

❤️💙💛 A Rotarian’s Love Triangle 💛💙❤️

Why do so many of us stay involved in Rotary? Because it brings together three things that truly matter:

🔹 Community – Building friendships and strengthening the places we call home.

🔹 Leadership – Growing personally and professionally while helping others succeed.

🔹 Making a Difference – Serving others and creating positive change, both locally and around the world.

At the center of it all is Rotary—a place where service, fellowship, and purpose come together. I’m grateful to be part of an organization that allows ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

If you’ve ever wondered what Rotary is all about, this picture says it all. Find your place, serve others, and experience the impact firsthand.

💙💛 SERVICE ABOVE SELF 💛💙

This simple phrase is more than a motto—it’s a way of life. Rotary members around the world dedicate their time, talents, and resources to making their communities stronger and improving lives both locally and globally.

Whether it’s supporting education, fighting hunger, honoring our veterans, mentoring youth, or leading community service projects, Rotarians are committed to putting others first.

Together, we care.
Together, we serve.
Together, we change lives.

Proud to be part of an organization filled with People of Action who work every day to make a positive difference. 🇺🇸🌎⚙️

This week, we had the privilege of hearing from Eric Bland, a highly respected attorney known for representing individuals in legal and professional malpractice cases. Eric gained national recognition for his tireless efforts to seek justice for the victims of the Alex Murdaugh financial crimes, helping recover funds for those impacted by the theft and embezzlement of millions of dollars in personal injury settlements.

His presentation was both fascinating and engaging as he shared stories from his youth, college years, and the experiences that shaped his path to becoming a successful attorney. Eric also discussed several of his high-profile cases that have been featured on national media outlets, including Dateline, 20/20, Today, Good Morning America, Netflix, Court TV, and Fox News.

Today, Eric co-hosts the podcast A Cup of Justice alongside Mandy Matney and recently authored the book Anything but Bland: Moxie, Murdaugh, and Making Life Happen on Your Own Terms.

Thank you, Eric, for sharing your remarkable journey and insights with us. It was an outstanding presentation and one that our members thoroughly enjoyed!

Congratulations to William Sexton on being named the Blythewood Rotary Club’s Rookie of the Year! 🎉

Since joining Rotary, William has consistently stepped up and volunteered wherever help was needed. His willingness to serve, positive attitude, and commitment to making a difference have made a tremendous impact on our club and our community.

Great fellowship, great food, and even better conversations! ☕🍳

Last Thursday, our group gathered for a Breakfast Social at Lizard’s Thicket, where we enjoyed a wonderful morning of connecting and catching up with one another.

A reminder that our next regular meeting will be this Thursday (June 11) at Columbia Country Club. We also invite everyone to join us for our next Summer Breakfast Social on June 18. We’ll be gathering between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. for another opportunity to enjoy good food, fellowship, and community.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
