Behind so many confident girls and growing young women is someone who loved them, guided them, checked on them, prayed for them, sacrificed for them, and reminded them who they were.

Today we celebrate the mothers, aunties, grandmothers, mentors, big sisters, and mother figures who continue to pour into the next generation with love and care.

Beyonce’ always on beat and she’s always on to something 😆💛

Right after Midlands Gives, we were right back in the schools recruiting for our Mentorship Internship program✨

During a 30 minute lunch period, 13 girls signed up on the spot and most of them walked up to the table on their own. The few that didn’t were escorted over my school personnel lol then brought friends back to join 😊

THIS is why we go so hard.

Behind every “we’re tired, but let’s do it anyway” moment are real teen girls looking for support, guidance, community, and opportunity.

So yeaaa the Bey audio is funny, but also FELT 😭

Midlands Gives is a community-wide day of giving where people come together to support local nonprofits and being in a space and connecting with others who are passionate about changing their community is always inspiring!

April was giving soft growth + main character energy 🌷✨ From dancing it out with (real tour energy, okayyy 💃🏽) at Day 1 Fitness Studios with .tesh, to stepping into confidence, class, and presence during our etiquette session… it’s been all about evolving and showing up as that girl.
We’re not following standards—we’re setting them. Period.

Recently, our board chair and lead facilitator spoke at a beautiful tea party experience for a group of girls hosted by Blythewood Park 💕

While we focus on high school girls and young women, we love every opportunity to pour into the littles too. Moments like this remind us just how early confidence and identity begin to take shape.

And seeing them wear those Pretty Powerful pins so proudly? That’s everything ☺️🫶🏽

Over the last couple weeks, our community has once again shown up and showed out for us! The momentum for has been unreal and we can’t thank our people enough.

Funds will go towards our launching this fall and every donation helps us reach more girls, young women, and families.

We’re also competing for a $1000 prize based on the number of donors, so every single person matters and no gift is too small!

Yall, we’ve raised $900+ in less than 48 hours… 💛🥳

On Wednesday morning, our fundraiser had $25 and I’ve been refreshing the page every 5 minutes since then 😅 if you’re a fellow I know yall know this feeling lol.

With that said, I’m constantly reminded…be anxious for nothing, because this right here? This is what it looks like when you have a board, a team and a community that truly believes in the mission.

There are a LOT of moving pieces behind Pretty Powerful: programming, partnerships and events (like our upcoming dance class). And somehow it’s all coming together.

We’re already nearing our first fundraising goal… so now we’re aiming to surpass it 🤸🏾‍♀️
