IAWPA Delegation Pays Courtesy Visit to Nigerian Mission at the United Nations
On the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York, the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), led by Ambassador Lawrence Oluwaseun Adeniyi, paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Syndoph Endoni, Permanent Representative of the Nigerian Mission to the United Nations.
A key highlight of the visit was the formal recognition of Ambassador Endoni as an Eminent Peace Ambassador. This honor was conferred in acknowledgment of his outstanding contributions to global peace and diplomacy. The delegation also extended its condolences to the people of Nigeria following the recent passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, paying tribute to his leadership and dedicated service to the nation.
During the visit, Amb. Adeniyi briefed the Permanent Representative on IAWPA’s global peace advocacy initiatives. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to promoting peace, sustainable development, and international cooperation in line with the United Nations’ values.
The High-Level Political Forum, the UN’s central platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is being held under the theme: “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind.” The forum brings together heads of government, UN bodies, policy experts, and civil society representatives to exchange insights and best practices.
IAWPA’s active engagement in this year’s HLPF reflects its ongoing dedication to fostering global peace and advancing the SDGs. Through high-level engagements and international collaboration, the association seeks to contribute meaningfully to building a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.
