Arkansas Archeological Survey - Blytheville Station AAS-Blytheville oversees the over 1500 archeological sites in Mississippi and Crittenden counties. We welcome the public to join us!

The Blytheville station maintains archeological site records and research collections for Mississippi and Crittenden counties. Cultural resources in the Blytheville station territory include prehistoric Indian sites dating as far back as 10,000 years ago, town and mound sites from the Mississippian era (AD 900-1600), sites which may have been visited by the Hernando de Soto expedition in 1541, Civ

il War era sites, the final resting place of the steamboat Sultana, a New Deal agricultural cooperative, and an outstanding example of Art Moderne architecture from the 1930s.
