๐ค NEW CASE โ FATE COATY JR.
17 YEARS. Still waiting for answers.
Feral & Fatal has been contacted by Shameica Pounds-Hardimon, the sister of Fate Coaty Jr., who was murdered in Memphis on August 29, 2009.
Seventeen years later, his family says they are still searching for answers.
According to Shameica, Fate was at his apartment on Belvedere Street when a fight occurred. She reports that Fate suffered a fatal blow to the back of his head and that two people reportedly fled the residence in his vehicle.
His family has continued providing information to investigators over the years, but they say communication and progress have been difficult to obtain.
There are questions surrounding the people who were reportedly with Fate shortly before his death, evidence reportedly found inside the apartment, and what happened in the hours surrounding his murder.
But right now, we are not going to tell you what happened.
We are going to find out what the records say.
Feral & Fatal has begun looking into Fate Coaty Jr.'s case. We are currently waiting on FOIA/public-record requests so we can review the case through documentation rather than assumptions.
We are also working directly with Fate's sister, who reached out to us seeking help after years of unanswered questions.
THIS IS WHERE WE START.
๐ Police records
๐ Investigative reports
๐ Evidence documentation
๐ Calls & communications
๐ Timeline reconstruction
๐ People connected to the case
๐ What was investigated โ and what may not have been
And then we'll follow the evidence wherever it leads.
Fate deserves more than a case number sitting in a file.
His family deserves answers.
And after 17 years, we're going to start asking the questions.
