The 2026 Convention of Arkansas State Chapter of P.E.O. was this past weekend. Sally Cooke and Courtney Baker served as delegates for Chapter DP. Tracey Ritchey and Alexx Conley were also in attendance, so Chapter DP had two awesome mother-daughter duos! 🤩

It was a great hearing of how our organization’s accomplishments have had such profound impact on advancing women’s education. Not just in our state, but across our country and the world! 🌎 When you support fundraisers of P.E.O. you are making a huge difference in the lives of many women, their families, and all people that are touched by the amazing things they go on to do after receiving their education! ⭐️

Today a few of our members helped pack food for the Blytheville Elementary School backpack program, which provides food to take home for the weekend for students in need.

At our last meeting we recognized three Chapter DP founding members that were in attendance: Jill H, Sally, and Laurie. We also celebrated Laurie as our Golden Girl after we learned about the original P.E.O. Founders!

Have you bought mums yet? Keep your fall mums alive and looking amazing with these tips!

If you need instant impact, then choose a plant in full flower. To extend the display period, select plants that have tight flower buds with just a little bit of color showing. Over time, the buds will open up, making the flowers last longer.

Always keep your fall mums in full sun. This promotes the very best flower opening and color development.

Keep your mums consistently watered. This is a greater challenge when growing your mums in containers. If the soil is dry, it’s time to water your mums. Do not let them wilt. Once a flowering fall mum is water-stressed, it turns off flowering. This doesn’t necessarily kill the plant, but the flowering will not recover.

Don’t water the foliage, but direct water to the base of the plant and continue until water starts to flow from the bottom of the container. Wet leaves make it easy for fungal growth to set in, making plants look bad.
