The Emily Geiger Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution is located in Bluffton, South Carolina. We are celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2020 with over 150 members, conducting the DAR American History Essay Contest annually, recognizing DAR Good Citizens, presenting DAR ROTC awards, Outstanding Teachers of American History, and many more community awards. We have
marked multiple revolutionary era graves in the Lowcountry. We are service-oriented and volunteer in various capacities as individuals and as a group. We contribute thousands of hours annually to the Bluffton area in the areas of education, patriotism, and historic preservation. We are a local chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution:

The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. DAR members volunteer millions of service hours annually in their local communities including supporting active-duty military personnel and assisting veteran patients, awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships and financial aid each year to students, and supporting schools for underserved children with annual donations exceeding one million dollars. For more than a century, the members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution have dedicated themselves to historic preservation, promotion of education, and encouragement of patriotic endeavor. These goals are as relevant in today's society as they were when the organization was founded in 1890.
