Dear Friends and Supporters,
After much thoughtful consideration, we are writing to share that Friends for Paws will be closing at the end of this year. This decision was not made lightly. As our partners have taken on new personal and professional commitments, it has become increasingly difficult to continue our rescue work at the level of care and consistency that our animals and community deserve.
All remaining donations that have not yet been used to support animals currently in our care will be donated to other 501(c)(3) animal rescue organizations. For those who wish to continue supporting lifesaving rescue efforts, we wholeheartedly recommend the following organizations, each of which relies solely on donations to continue their work:
🐾 Raskel Rescue
🐾 Lovable Paws
🐾 Noah’s Ark
🐾 Hilton Head Humane
We are profoundly grateful for the kindness, generosity, and unwavering support you have shown over the past eight years. None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary individuals who stood beside us along the way. Our deepest thanks go to Dr. Owens, our rescue veterinarian who consistently went above and beyond for every dog in our care; to Nicole Bremer, our number one fundraiser and the driving force behind our annual golf tournaments; and to Karen at The BarkShack, who was always willing to step in when fosters were needed.
Because Friends for Paws did not have a physical facility, our foster families were truly the heart of our mission. We simply could not have saved the lives we did without your compassion and willingness to open your homes. To our adopters, thank you for choosing to rescue. We hope that decision brought you not just a pet, but a lifelong best friend.
Friends for Paws made a meaningful difference because of you. For that, we will always be grateful.
With heartfelt appreciation,
❤️
The Friends for Paws Team
