Bubba was found by a staff member one day on her way home. He was laying down right off 95 and she saw him and said "hey there, want to get in the car?" and boy did he ever! He hopped right in with such enthusiasm!

The staff member followed the correct channels and notified animal control and ultimately Bubba came to be in our care.

We scanned him for a chip and he does have one. He was adopted out by another shelter 4 years ago as a puppy. The adopters as well as the shelter have all been contacted. The shelter that adopted him out is not interested in taking him back and the adopters gave him to someone else who has not returned any of our calls. As they live deep in GA and he was found off 95 in Ridgeland, we are assuming that he may have been dumped. We cannot understand as Bubba is the best boy ever.

Bubba is so sweet and loving. He absolutely loves everyone that he meets. He is a dream in the car. As we also have zero space, Bubba has been staying in an office. He is not crated and is by far one of the best dogs in an office that we have ever had. He doesn't chew on anything and is very much house trained. Bubba is just so sweet and gentle and one of the best dogs, if not the best, that we have ever had come through Raskel's Rescue.

Bubba deserves so much more than the hand he has been dealt. Bubba has been failed by so many. Let's all work together to give Bubba the ending that he deserves, and that ending is with the best and most loving family ever!

This handsome guy is Marshall. He has a long story to tell but he needs you to take him home so he can tell you his story. Marshall has been with us for several years and is looking for a home to live out his life. His adoption is donation only but that does not seem to matter to anyone. He is one of many wonderful dogs looking for a home. Come on by on Fridays 11 to 1 or Saturdays 10 to 3.

Dear May River High School Animal Welfare Club Members, Families, and Supporters,

It is with a mix of gratitude and a touch of sadness that we announce the dissolution of the May River High School Animal Welfare Club, effective at the end of the 2025-2026 school year. Since our founding at the start of the 2016-2017 school year, this club has been an extraordinary journey for us all—a journey filled with compassion, learning, and unforgettable connections with animals and each other. The past nine years have been an absolute blast, and we are so proud of everything this club has accomplished.

From the very beginning, our partnership with Palmetto Animal League (PAL), a remarkable nonprofit, no-kill rescue organization, has been at the heart of our mission. Together, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that countless animals received the love, care, and second chances they deserved. Through volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, and community outreach, our club members have made a tangible difference in the lives of so many animals, and for that, we could not be prouder.

Reflecting on these years, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible memories we have made and the remarkable students who have given their time, energy, and compassion to this cause. It has been our honor to guide and witness their growth, not just as animal advocates but as caring, responsible individuals.

However, as with all good things, we believe it is time to bring this chapter to a close. Cheryl looks forward to enjoying more time traveling, and Liz is excited to embrace new opportunities. Ending the club now, while it is still thriving, allows us to celebrate it at its best.

To all our animal friends, our dedicated members, and their supportive families—thank you for being a part of this wonderful adventure. Our hope is that the kindness and passion you have shown here will continue to impact the world around you.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Cheryl Curry

With so many puppies under our care right now (36 to be exact 😮) we are running low on puppy food again. If you can help, please use the links below. Also, the pups are going through toys like crazy! We could really use some new dog and puppy toys for our toy bin at Palmetto Animal League. It's always a great day at the Adoption Center when each dog gets to pick out a new toy. 🐾💙

WE NEED LINENS! With so many litters of puppies to care for at Palmetto Animal League we can't get enough donations of linens, especially flat sheets. If you've been meaning to clean out your linen closet, we can make great use of your old sheets, comforters, and blankets. Thank you for helping us keep homeless puppies happy, clean, and cozy as they grow and get ready for adoption.
