We will certify 10 chaplains and 8 mentors on May 4th. I will not say in the closing prayer “May the force be with you.”

Consider joining the team which includes 28 lay community chaplains, 21 single parent mentors and 16 volunteer financial advisors.

We need more mentors and advisors. Consider and pray how you can be a life changer. You will not regret it.

I was honored with a Honorary Doctorate Degree this past week for my work in chaplaincy over the years. I was amazed and humbled at the same time.

🎄✨ Reflecting on the True Spirit of Christmas ✨🎄

As the festive season unfolds, let's take a moment to ponder the real meaning of Christmas. 🤔 It's not just about the dazzling decorations, the joyous carols, or the delightful presents under the tree. 🎁

Christmas is a time to embrace the spirit of love, kindness, and compassion. It's about connecting with our loved ones and spreading warmth to those around us. 🤗💖 Whether through small acts of generosity or simply sharing a heartfelt smile, let's make this season truly magical for everyone.

In the hustle and bustle, let's not forget the true reason for the season – the birth of hope, love, and peace. 🕊️ Let's cherish the moments with family and friends, express gratitude, and extend a helping hand to those in need.

May your holiday season be filled with the genuine spirit of Christmas, making memories that last a lifetime. 🌟✨ Wishing you all a joyous and meaningful celebration! 🎅🤶 🌲💕

I have a Masters Degree and tested out of college English. I have no problem reading. But…I struggle to spell. Anybody else?

I don’t think I have a learning difficulty. Read this…

https://scholarwithin.com/spelling-problems #

There are two primary systems that impact your ability to spell words. These are the visual and auditory systems. If these systems are not working as well as they should be, you are likely to have spelling problems. The good news is, those systems can improve and spelling problems can too!

Why pray?

By failing to pray, can we forfeit personal blessings which God would otherwise bestow? It does appear that in his sovereignty God has ordained believing prayer as a necessary means for our receiving many of his promises. Therefore, James can say “You do not have because you do not ask” (4:2). And, Calvin says
..to us nothing is promised to be expected from the Lord, which we are not also bidden to ask of him in prayers... and he is inactive, as if forgetting us, when he sees us idle and mute (Institutes III, 20, 2-3). Thomas Tarrants

Why community chaplains?

My understanding of who chaplains are, what they do, and where they ought to serve rests upon four assumptions.

Chaplains are persons who seek to empower persons to be fully human (that is to be whole persons).
Chaplains minister within the spirituality of the person they serve.
Every person lives a spirituality.
But not every person is religious.
I define chaplains as persons called by God and who have been professionally trained and certified to minister to peoples’ spiritual needs within the context of empowering people to be fully human. To be fully human, one must function as well as possible: cognitively, physiologically, psychologically, emotionally, societally, and spiritually in an integrated manner. Rev. Steven Ryan

We are looking for men and women to serve as lay community chaplains.
