Freedom Academy Utah The Utah National Guard and the Honorary Colonels Corps has sponsored Freedom Academy since 1961.

Freedom Academy teaches our young leaders the importance of freedom, that it does come with a price, and leadership is essential to its survival.

Day 5 was all Army—and all action. 💪🇺🇸

Freedom Academy delegates put their courage and teamwork to the test as they rode in MRZRs, rappelled from towers, learned lifesaving field medical techniques, and experienced decontamination operations alongside Utah Army National Guard Soldiers.

After an adrenaline-filled day of hands-on training, delegates showcased a different kind of talent during the evening talent show before celebrating an incredible week with a well-earned pool party.

Today marks the final day of Freedom Academy. Throughout the week, these young leaders have been challenged, inspired, and introduced to the people and organizations that defend our freedoms every day. We can't wait to see what they accomplish next.

Day 4 of Freedom Academy gave our delegates an unforgettable look at service, leadership, and the freedoms they will one day help protect. 🇺🇸

From witnessing the incredible capabilities of the Utah Air National Guard ✈️ to touring the Utah State Correctional Facility, delegates gained firsthand insight into the organizations that safeguard our communities and our nation.

The day also included a moving Flag Retirement Ceremony, honoring the Stars and Stripes with the dignity and respect it deserves. 🇺🇸❤️

To cap it all off, delegates took the stage for a speech contest, confidently exercising one of our nation's most cherished rights—freedom of speech. Their voices, ideas, and passion for America reminded us that the future is in good hands.

🏛️ Day 3 of Freedom Academy 🇺🇸

Leadership came to life as our delegates stepped inside the halls where decisions are made. From meeting with Utah legislators at the State Capitol to learning about justice and public safety at the federal courthouse with the U.S. Marshals, students gained a firsthand look at the institutions that serve our communities.

The day continued behind the scenes at KUTV 2 News, where delegates discovered the power of journalism and storytelling, before ending with an inspiring Salute to Service Night honoring those who have dedicated their lives to serving our nation.

Future leaders aren't just learning about government—they're experiencing it.

Freedom Academy delegates started the day with a true drill sergeant wake-up, pushed themselves through an energizing physical training session, connected with members of Unified Police to learn about leadership and service, and wrapped up the evening celebrating new friendships at the Officers' Club.

From challenges that build resilience to experiences that inspire future leaders, every day at Freedom Academy is an opportunity to grow.

Future leaders. Stronger communities. 🇺🇸

Students from Freedom Academy 2026 spent their first day at Camp Williams, gaining firsthand experience in military leadership, teamwork and service alongside Utah National Guard Soldiers and Airmen. Through hands-on training, leadership challenges and mentorship, these young leaders developed skills that will serve them well long after this week ends.

The future is bright, and we're proud to invest in the next generation of leaders.

As we wrap up another year of , we take time to reflect on the values and tenants of freedom. We take solace in knowing our next generation is ready to steward our ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Thank you, Freedom Academy 2025, for an amazing week. As you move into your next chapter, remember this week. Remember the bonds built, friendships made, and lessons learned. Remember the sacrifices, remember the privileges, and most importantly, remember that freedom isn’t free.
