The Bureau of Land Management Monticello Field Office and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Manti-La Sal National Forest will host a meeting with the Bears Ears National Monument Advisory Committee on March 27, 2024, at the Hideout Community Center, 648 South Hideout Way, Monticello, Utah 84535. We would like to encourage you to attend in person or virtually.

This is your chance to learn about the vital work for the planning efforts and discuss management alternatives from the Bears Ears National Monument Resource Management Plan.

We encourage you to sign up for public comments, which we will accept at 1:15 p.m. MST.

This is a reminder that the public event launch of 100 Years Of Silence is in a few days. The Ute narrative will be about the historical tragedy that impacted the community in 1923. Ute Elders, storytellers, and musicians will commemorate the tragedies of 1923. Join us to end the silence and celebrate the resilience of the Ute people.

Since April 2023, Utah Diné Bikéyah has proudly partnered with the White Mesa Ute Community to raise awareness around the historical atrocities experienced by the Ute people in Allen Canyon, close to Blanding, Utah. We support the 100 Years of Silence Project and the community members telling their original stories around the historical events that took place in 1923. We hope you support the 100 Years team and continue the mission of healing we all strive for.

You can show your support on March 24th, 2024, at the opening event from 1pm to 4pm at the Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah. If you want to know more, contact Project Director Shaun Ketchum at (970) 235-6906.
