In remembrance...

On October 7, 2023, a peaceful Simchat Torah morning in Israel, a day of rejoicing over God's Word, was shattered. Some 1,200 people were murdered, and more than 250 were taken hostage. It was the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

Three years later, these lives must never become statistics. We remember those who were murdered, the survivors, those who endured captivity, and the families who carry absence every day.

Just weeks before, I had been in Israel filming Pilgrimage to Zion. I stood on the shores of the Galilee and at the Garden Tomb, teaching from the land where God's story of redemption unfolded. Weeks later, I watched the Land I had just walked become the scene of unspeakable evil.

As a Jewish man whose father fled N**i Germany, I don't take this day lightly. As a follower of Messiah Jesus, I know there is a battle behind the battle. And I hold fast to the God who keeps Israel and "shall neither slumber nor sleep" (Psalm 121:4).

Would you join me today in praying?

🇮🇱 For the survivors and the families who are still grieving
🇮🇱 For protection over Jewish communities facing antisemitic hostility and violence around the world
🇮🇱 For the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6)
🇮🇱 For the Jewish people to know their Messiah, Yeshua, whose very name means salvation

We remember. We pray. We stand.
