A big thank you to High School Automotive Technology teacher Simmons and his students for their support of veterans and 2020 Holiday Farm Fire survivors through "Operation Rolling Thunder: Students Supporting Veterans." Leveraging a $5,000 grant from Freight Tools for Schools program, Mark and his students repaired and donated a car to US Army Veteran and wildfire survivor, Loran Taylor. MVLTRG was happy to help connect Mark and his team with Mr. Taylor, and we're grateful for their work.

MVLTRG is seeking a Consultant Partner to help us assess the needs and opportunities associated with expanding the scope of our mission.

In an effort to continue responding to evolving community needs amid the increasing frequency of severe weather and climate-related events, MVLTRG is exploring how best we can support communities in Lane County and beyond. Our efforts are in response to community needs, while being thoughtful and respectful of the other organizations that are supporting this work, as well as recognizing the strength in these communities, particularly in rural areas.

We are still reflecting on our time at Oregon Resilience Summit. Here's John Moriarty's reflection, Associate Director at McKenzie Valley LTRG: "It was inspiring to join community organizations from across the state at the Oregon Resilience Summit. Every aspect of the gathering—from genuine land acknowledgement and grounding to workshops, panels and informal conversations—demonstrated the profound positive impact of community organizations. And also reminded me of how critical it is for those organizations to be able to count on financial support from the government and foundation partners who depend on us to address local needs."
