On Saturday, May 16, the Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association alongside the Fannin County Board of Commissioners, Fannin County Public Works, Fannin County Emergency Management Agency, Fannin County Fires Department, Georgia DNR and GOCO Dumpsters came together for a major cleanup project on Lake Blue Ridge.

Crews filled 12 tons into three 40-foot dumpsters with debris removed from the lake, including condemned docks, floating trash, a half-sunken ski jump and remnants of a burned houseboat. Public Works utilized heavy equipment while firefighters and volunteers worked together to remove debris from the water.

Many thanks to our LBRCA volunteers and board for organizing and accomplishing such a successful cleanup!

Spring Lake Cleanup! From April 28 and May 15, bring trash to the Morganton Point boat ramp. A corral will be constructed adjacent to the ramp and all floating trash should be deposited inside the corral to insure it does not float away. Bags of trash may be placed on the shoreline to insure they do not float away.

NOTE: Our lake cleanup is designed for lake debris, NOT household or personal debris or trash. No dock remnants will be accepted.

On Saturday, May 16, all participants are asked to gather at the Morganton Point boat ramp at 9:00 am for a quick meeting and lake area assignments. We will have industrial dumpsters available as well as a front end loader to lift and load all accumulated trash into the dumpsters.

Dock Safety
The Fannin County Emergency Management Agency has taken an initiative to insure dock safety related to devices that provide electricity to the docks on Lake Blue Ridge. As a result, the EMA will be attaching flyers to every dock on the lake with information as to how we can ensure that our docks are safe.
