I know firsthand as a school board trustee for 11 years in the South Country Central School District how this scam and yes, it is a scam continues to be perpetrated against the children and the taxpayers of school districts in the tri-state area. I single-handedly continued to call for an ethics policy that was later water down by two board Presidents who had something else to gain. I strongly suggest to all of the voters in the South Country Central School District to be certain not to re-elect Chris Picini or Cheryl Felice as they have both failed in their fiduciary responsibilities as Presidents of the board at various times, and have ALWAYS had their own personal and profitable agendas. Both over stepped their roles as Board President and regularly played POLITICS on the Board at the exspense of all concerned. They failed to put the law firm to the test, as well as the auditors whether they meant to collude or simply colluded out of their lack of character, the bottom line is Chris Picini ought to have been removed from the board for failure to attend board meetings on a regular basis, and as board President Cheryl Felice looked the other way. Chris Picini regularly voted in public to approve vendors that ought not to have been approved. Why was the South Country Central School District over budget in the year 2000 ?Perhaps someone ought to ask Mark J. I happily suffer the things and arrows because I am Lisa Di Santo. I know what it means to be a trustee. I know what it means to be an elected official in a representative democracy. I know how government ought to operate. I’ve watched how badly it’s been applied a local level, I have always said the South Country Central School District is a hidden gem amongst the large districts all of which I’ve had extensive experiences in. My experience goes well beyond the Brookhaven borders despite the people in the community who want to minimize or trivialize me. Those are the smal -minded people who gossip because gossip is for small minds. .As a historian as a scholar, I understands the colloquial business of South Country. Keep in mind united stand divided you fall. Don’t let the evil element. Divide you further in quite frankly you’re going to need an army to deal with the Armageddon that is Mount Trashmore. I had tried, and I was personally skewered by the individuals name on the school board because they were more concerned about their personal profits than about any child or taxpayer in the district, and that is the whole truth than nothing but the truth, so help me God.
